Some months feel heavier than others.
When you spend your days walking beside families through grief, you learn very quickly that loss does not care about timing, age, plans, or how strong someone appears on the outside. It changes people. Quietly. Permanently.
I have learned that grief never truly disappears. We simply learn how to carry it differently. Some days it feels light enough to breathe through, and other days it sits on your chest like the world forgot to give you air. Human design flaw number 4,812: loving deeply means hurting deeply when someone is gone. Brutal system, honestly.
But even in the middle of heartbreak, the days continue moving forward. And somehow, so must we. Not because we are “over it,” and not because we forget, but because the people we love would never want us to stop living on their behalf.
So if you are carrying loss this month, please remember this:
You are allowed to grieve and still keep going.
You are allowed to smile while still missing them.
You are allowed to heal without guilt.
Love does not end when a life does. It simply changes form.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18

Hold your people close. Speak their names. Share their stories. Keep living. That becomes part of honoring them too. 🤍
