Pregnancy can make everyday choices feel bigger. Things like receipts, plastic water bottles, canned foods, and food containers often come up in conversations about BPA exposure.

The good news is this: you do not need to be perfect. A healthy pregnancy is not about fear. It’s about making small, realistic choices when you can and giving yourself grace along the way.

Simple ways to reduce exposure:
• choose email receipts when possible
• avoid heating food in plastic
• use glass or stainless steel more often
• wash your hands after handling receipts

What is an NT scan, and why is it important in early pregnancy? 🤍

The Nuchal Translucency (NT) scan is a first trimester ultrasound usually done between 11 weeks and 13 weeks 6 days. It measures the small fluid-filled space at the back of baby’s neck as part of early screening for certain chromosomal abnormalities and other potential concerns.

This scan can provide valuable early information about your baby’s development and may be combined with bloodwork and other markers for a more complete picture.

✨ Important to know: NT measurement is a screening tool, not a diagnosis. A normal result can be reassuring, while an increased measurement may mean your provider recommends more testing.

If you’re in the first trimester, understanding what this scan looks for can help you feel more informed and prepared during your pregnancy journey.

You came in thinking you were 6 weeks…
but we only saw the gestational sac 🤍

“Is everything okay?”

The answer is yes, most of the time, it’s simply too early.

Pregnancy dating can be off by a few days, and at around 5 weeks, it’s completely normal to only see the sac without a heartbeat yet.
