I believe in moving every day. I believe in cardio, stretching, lifting small, light weights, and big, heavy weights. I do it all.
But my most important wellness habit is to walk.
Walk. Walk again. Walk when you’re mad. Walk when you’re sad. Walk when it’s sunny. Walk with no electronics. Walk with a friend. Walk with the dog. Walk in the rain. Walk in the snow.
Our brains are meant to solve problems and get creative at 3 mph. Walking reduces stress, strengthens your legs and core, and just makes you feel better.
My friend Tracy always told me, it’s not the weather, it’s the gear. So if you need to bundle up and walk in the rain, do it. If you need to wear a giant hat and protect yourself from the sun, do it. I wish I started my walking practice at 25 or 35. Don’t wait as long as I did - get out there and walk!
I’ll see you out there! 🚶🏻‍♀️
