The American Red Cross has opened a shelter for residents affected by severe weather in Walworth County. Anyone who has been displaced is welcome to join us at the Walworth County Health & Human Services building at 1910 County Road NN, Elkhorn, WI. ⛈️ Storm Recovery Assistance Available 💙
In the wake of the devastating storms that impacted our community, we know many residents are facing significant challenges, including downed trees, property damage, and needed home repairs.

To help support recovery efforts, we are partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Walworth County to identify households in need of assistance. If your home sustained storm-related damage and you need help with tree removal, debris cleanup, or minor home repairs, we encourage you to submit a request for assistance.

Our goal is to connect available volunteers and resources to those with the greatest needs as we work together to recover and rebuild. Assistance will be prioritized based on the extent of damage, safety concerns, volunteer capacity, and available resources.

This makes me so sad. I frequently hear from teacher from a number of districts that they don't feel supported by administration or parents. There is no accountability for student behavior and classrooms are becoming increasingly unsafe. Teachers carry the majority of the liability and risk as they manage larger class sizes with more students who exhibit complex and disruptive behaviors with little to no support.

Citing a lack of respect and support, teachers from Lake Geneva’s Central-Denison Elementary School announced their resignations. The district now faces the challenge of addressing these issues before the next school year starts.
