Realizing that unlike Conventional healthcare, Natural medicine is not a band-aid solution. A core principle of her practice which is based on Functional Medicine is to find the underlying cause of a disease through looking at the body’s physiology. This is done through comprehensive lab work and detailed questions. While, lab work are commonly performed at an allopathic physicians office, often the information obtained are considered within normal ranges. This is because laboratories use ranges based on sick and unhealthy individuals so a person is only notified when their results are in pathological ranges; meaning they have already developed a serious disease. Thus why a person may have various lab work done with normal results but don’t feel normal. As a result they are dismissed with the implication that the symptoms are just in their head. This is like dealing with a catastrophe instead of picking up the signs before it happens. This crisis disease management mind set has brought about many pharmaceutical drugs which treat this level of disease only. Many of these drugs are not without side effects. These side effects, in turn, warrant prescription of other drugs to mask these new symptoms and it just becomes a vicious cycle. Dr. Talebi’s practice and area of expertise is focused on preventing these diseases before they get to crisis level. Dr. Talebi recognizes that more and more people seek alternative healthcare but are unable to locate a doctor with such expertise closer to home. To minimize travel time for those patients, she has sought to provide her services in a more convenient manner. She is, now, proud to finally comprehensive health analysis online that is convenient and cost effective. You can now seek her expertise and other like-minded naturopaths from the comfort of your own home, thanks to modern technology.

Your liver processes sugar almost the same way it processes alcohol 🍷🍬

⚠️ Both metabolized almost entirely in the liver 🔥 Both drive fat synthesis → fatty liver risk 📈 Both raise uric acid → inflammation + blood pressure 🙈 Difference: alcohol gives you a buzz, sugar doesn't — so you never feel it happening

Whole fruit ≠ added sugar. Fiber changes everything.

There's a $10 blood test that can flag metabolic trouble years early. Most doctors never run it 🩸

🧪 It's called uric acid. Everyone thinks it's just a gout number
🍬 Rising uric acid is one of the EARLIEST signs sugar and fructose are stressing your metabolism (per Dr. Robert Lustig's work)
📊 Labs call up to ~6.0 "normal" for women / 7.2 for men
🎯 The metabolic sweet spot: under 5.5

Ask for it by name at your next visit.

Low-fat. Atkins. Keto. Carnivore. They all "worked" — but not for the reason you think 🍽️

🔍 Every single one, by design, cut out ultra-processed food 👆 That's the real mechanism behind the early results, every time ⚠️ But the extreme versions starve your gut bacteria (bye, grains/legumes/fruit) 📉 Short-term win. Long-term bill.

The way of eating that actually holds up long-term isn't a diet trend.

Could Your Symptoms Be Related to Vitamin B12?

Feeling constantly tired, struggling with brain fog, or noticing tingling in your hands or feet? While these symptoms can have many causes, a vitamin B12 deficiency is one possibility worth discussing with your healthcare provider.

Common signs of low vitamin B12 may include:

✔️ Fatigue or low energy
✔️ Tingling or numbness in the hands or feet
✔️ Brain fog or memory problems
✔️ Difficulty with balance or walking
✔️ A sore, smooth tongue or cracks at the corners of the mouth

The good news? Vitamin B12 deficiency can often be identified with the right testing. Depending on your situation, your healthcare provider may recommend tests such as serum B12, holotranscobalamin (active B12), methylmalonic acid (MMA), homocysteine, and a complete blood count to get a more complete picture.

Don't ignore persistent symptoms or assume they're simply a normal part of aging.

Doing "everything right" and the scale still won't move? Here's why 🎯

💡 Insulin's real job: tell your body to store energy 🚫 Insulin resistance = cells stop listening = pancreas makes even more 📈 High insulin on repeat = fat storage + inflammation, on autopilot 🙅‍♀️ This is NOT a willpower problem

It's testable. It's fixable.

Eating at your desk is quietly wrecking your digestion 😳

🧠 Digestion starts before your first bite — it's called the cephalic phase 📱 Eat distracted (desk, car, scrolling) and you blunt it 🎈 Result: bloating, heaviness, that stuffed feeling way too early 🍽️ Fix: sit down, 3 deep breaths, then eat

A simple filter for almost every diet: if it tells you to eat a LOT of one thing — all meat, all fat, protein at every meal, juice-only — be suspicious. No single food or nutrient is the key to health, and overloading one always crowds out the others.
Your body thrives on variety: plants, fiber, healthy fats, enough (not maximal) protein, and the compounds only whole foods provide. The longest-lived people don't do extremes — they eat balanced, mostly-plant meals in moderation, in portions they can sustain. Moderation isn't boring; it's the skill that actually lasts.
