You showered after the pool. But did your eyes recover?

Chlorine is designed to keep pool water clean, but it doesn't discriminate. When you swim, it strips away your eye's natural tear film, leaving the surface exposed, irritated, and struggling to stay lubricated long after you've dried off.

And the more time you spend in the water this summer, the more it adds up.

Here's what chlorine exposure can do to your eyes:
→ Redness and visible irritation that lingers after swimming.
→ Burning or stinging that doesn't fully go away.
→ A gritty or scratchy sensation, like something's in your eye.
→ Dryness that worsens throughout the day.
→ Excessive tearing as your eyes work overtime to compensate.

If any of these sound familiar after a day at the pool, your tear film may need more support than you think. Dr. Kylie Barto specializes in dry eye care and can help you protect your eyes all summer long with treatment options and supplements from tailored to your specific needs.

Your eye health and your overall health are more connected than most people realize.

Diabetes, high blood pressure, and certain autoimmune conditions can all slowly and silently affect the quality of your vision, often before you notice any change at all.

Regular eye exams are one of the most important ways to catch these changes early, but what happens outside the exam room matters just as much.

Monitoring your blood sugar, managing your blood pressure, eating well, and staying active all play a direct role in protecting your sight long term.

Your eyes are telling a story about your health. Make sure someone is listening.

For Risa, the surgery itself turned out to be the easiest part.

She went in nervous and came out saying it was one of the coolest experiences she'd ever had.

With light anesthesia, a calm surgical team, and Dr. Gorscak guiding her through every moment, Risa was fully aware as her cataract was broken apart and her new lens was placed. She felt pressure. She felt no pain. And she watched the whole thing happen in real time.

Stay tuned to hear more about her story.

Risa didn't realize how much she had been missing until she could finally see it.

For years, colors were hazy. The greens on the golf course were muted. She had been closing one eye just to read her putts for so long that it had become completely normal to her. After her procedure at See Vision Eye Institute, nothing looked the same.

The green was vibrant. The flowers on the shrubs were bright. Everything was crisp and clear in a way she says she genuinely cannot remember experiencing before.

Stay tuned to hear more about her story.
