Sisterhood of Bones is coming back.

There’s an old story about a woman who wanders the desert gathering bones, singing over them until they rise again — changed. That’s where this circle gets its name.

Sisterhood of Bones is a one-day grief and puppetry workshop for women. Each of you builds your own puppet before the day itself, then brings it into a small circle — telling your story, being witnessed, letting your hands carry what your words sometimes can’t.

Grief and play aren’t opposites here. They never really were.

📅 October 24th
🕘 9am–3pm
📍 Location shared once the circle is confirmed

Space is kept small on purpose — every voice deserves to actually be held.
No prior art experience needed. Just a willingness to come as you are, with whatever you’re carrying.

Interested in joining? Reach out to Bryn at BlueRaven Family Counseling — (720) 432-6011 or [email protected].

Come with your bones. Let your grief take shape. 🐺🌙

🧠 BEYOND THE CHECKLIST: Recognizing, Treating & Reframing OCD

Q’Lective Therapy hosts Blueraven Family Counseling for a CE workshop that goes past the surface-level symptom checklist.

OCD is one of the most misunderstood diagnoses out there — often reduced to “liking things clean” or “being a little type A.” This workshop digs into what it actually looks like, how to tell it apart from anxiety, phobias, and other commonly confused diagnoses, and how to treat it with real, evidence-based tools.

✅ Recognize — core features, common presentations & co-occurring conditions (anxiety, autism & more)
✅ Treat — gold-standard modalities including ERP, I-CBT, and attachment-informed, co-regulation-based approaches
✅ Reframe — moving from “eliminate the diagnosis” to truly understanding the person in front of you

We’ll get there through lecture, group practice, and yes — pop culture. Expect clips and callbacks to Monk, Friends, Boy Meets World, What About Bob?, As Good as It Gets, The Aviator, Trap, and Glee (some more accurate than others 👀).

Presented by Bryn Murphy, MA, LMFT — founder of BlueRaven Family Counseling, who brings both clinical expertise and lived experience with OCD to this training.

📅 Friday, Dec. 4, 2026
🕘 9 AM – 1 PM MST / 11 AM – 3 PM EST
💻 Online workshop
🎓 4.0 CE Credits — confirmed for NY licensees; CE credit may also be available in other states, so check with your state board for reciprocity
🏷️ Early bird pricing thru 10/12/26
Perfect for therapists, clinical counselors & trainees ready to move beyond the checklist.

On Saturday, Bryn is hosting Sisterhood of Bones: A Grief & Puppet/Art Therapy Workshop — a small circle of women arriving with their creations, their “bones,” and their stories. Grief, play, and community woven into one sacred space.

In preparation, Bryn is crafting her own Grief Puppet — a vessel to represent BlueRaven. She spent weeks building giant cardboard wings for her. She had to let them go.

They were beautiful. Big. Beloved. But too heavy to carry — they couldn’t hold what they needed to hold. So it was back to the drawing board, new wings taking shape from the ashes of the old.

There was grief in that letting go — mourning the hours, the vision, the shape she’d already fallen in love with. But this isthe process. Dismantling your art is not failure; it’s descent. It’s the same sacred unmaking that grief itself asks of us — building, holding, breaking apart, until what’s true finally reveals itself.

Bryn is making her own grief puppet, right alongside the women she’ll guide. Hands in the work. Heart in the ache. It is daunting, overwhelming, and somehow — deeply freeing.

✨ Reach out to BlueRaven to be part of future workshops like this one.

Anam Cara 🪶

This video is the last month of building Anam Cara — an Irish term meaning “soul friend,” and the name I gave this blue heron puppet for a grief workshop I facilitated.

Making her looked a lot like grieving does. I built wings once, out of cardboard, exactly as I’d pictured them — and they didn’t work, so I had to take them apart and let that version go before something truer could take their place. I painted her a color that wasn’t right and had to sit with that mistake, layer over it, let it become texture instead of erasing it. Nothing about her came together in a straight line. She came together by being dismantled and remade, more than once.

That’s the process I wanted this workshop’s puppet to carry in her body, not just in what she represented. Grief isn’t building something once and being done — it’s taking apart what you thought was finished and finding out what’s still true underneath.

Anam Cara guided Sisterhood of Bones through that work — a silent, comforting, steady presence in the room. As both a therapist and a grieving human myself, I don’t claim to be an artist, but I found this process to be freeing, challenging, hard, and joyful — the same emotions grief itself moves through.

I’m so proud of her, and of everything her wings held during the workshop.
