With deeply saddened hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Cheryl Rice McGovern, age 62, who left us gently in her sleep at her home on July 12th, 2026. Cheryl was a radiant soul who possessed the rare and beautiful gift of lifting any spirit just by walking into a room. Helping others was not just her passion; it was her true purpose in life, making her an absolute joy to be around.

Born in Denver in 1964 to her loving parents, Margaret and William Rice, Cheryl spent her lifetime nurturing the people and world around her. She channeled her deeply caring nature into her career as a Medical Assistant for Panorama Orthopedics, where she served faithfully for 16 years. Cheryl strived to make every single patient's experience as comforting and wonderful as possible. Her genuine kindness touched countless lives and blessed her with lifelong friendships among her cherished coworkers.

Cheryl’s heart was happiest when she was surrounded by loved ones, but her ultimate sanctuary was the great outdoors. She found immense peace and joy camping and fishing in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, taking in everything the majestic wilderness had to offer. At home, she poured that same immense love into her family, her friends, and her treasured miniature Chihuahua mix, Chase, who was truly her four-legged baby.

Cheryl’s legacy of love lives on through her only son, Joseph K. Lace, and her brother, Douglas Rice. Her memory will be held dear by the many wonderful friends she gathered over a lifetime, including her childhood friend, Fluffy Olmstead, her long-time friend, Gaynor Wister Miller, and her former coworker, HR Fogarty among many others.

While it brings profound sorrow that Cheryl was taken from us so soon, we find comfort in her final, tender wishes. She gently asked those she loved to hold back their tears, reminding us that she was simply going home. We find peace in knowing she will be waiting for us when it is our time to meet again.

We love you so much, Mom. Until we meet again.

James Edward Boatwright, 85, of Golden, Colorado, passed away on July 14, 2026.

He was born on March 7, 1941, in Orlando, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1962 with a degree in engineering, beginning a distinguished career as an aerospace engineer. He joined Martin Marietta — later Lockheed Martin — where his work focused on satellites and space launches. In the late 1960s, he moved to Denver and continued at the company's Littleton headquarters for more than thirty years, retiring in 1999.

In 1988, James married the love of his life, Janet (Mayer) Boatwright. He embraced his role as a devoted husband and stepfather, helping raise and care for her young sons.

Away from his career, James found joy in the outdoors. He was an avid gardener, hunter, and fisherman who cherished his time in nature. He was also a talented cook who loved to barbecue. When not outside, you could find him in his easy chair in the company of his many beloved dogs and cats.

James is survived by his wife, Janet (Mayer) Boatwright; his stepsons, Damon Delgado and Craig Delgado; his daughter-in-law, Shevaun Gilmartin Delgado; and his grandson, Declan Delgado.

Patricia “Trish” Rose Kraus, née Steffes, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in Lakewood, Colorado. Born May 2, 1941, Trish grew up in central Wisconsin near Lamartine and Fond du Lac. She graduated from St. Mary’s Springs Academy High School (Fond du Lac) in 1959. In 1964, she had her first child, Rosemary MacCallum, née Kraus, and in 1967, she had her second child, Joseph Kraus. She lived the majority of her adult life in Janesville from 1976 until 2017 when she moved out to Colorado to be closer to her son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. For many years, she worked in Mercy Hospital as a pharmacy tech. Trish loved camping, naturalist painting, listening to a wide variety of music, dancing, and reading voraciously about nature, science, culture, history, and science fiction. She was a long-time volunteer for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. She also enjoyed watching tennis and the Green Bay Packers.

She was preceded in death by her sister Joan Steffes, her brother Richard Steffes, and her parents Al and Louise Steffes. She is survived by her sisters Marianna Gyger, née Steffes, Susan Steffes, her brother Michael Steffes, her daughter Rosemary MacCallum, son-in-law Andrew MacCallum, son Joseph Kraus, daughter-in-law Melinda Kraus, and her grandson Justin Kraus.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association of Colorado (or any regional chapter of your choosing.) Trish will be buried next to her beloved sister Joan Steffes at the Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Debbie Padgett, 68, of Denver, Colorado died of natural causes on July 4th, 2026.

She was born in Denver in 1958 to Laurene and Steven Wielgosz and was a loving daughter, sister, and mother. She graduated from North High School before working at Safeway where she retired from in 2020.

Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Padgett, and parents, Laurene and Steven. She is survived by her son, Zed, her daughter in law, Ashley and her brother, Steve.

The memorial service is at 11AM July 20th, 2026 at Arvada Covenant Church (5555 Ward Rd, Arvada, CO 80002). Donations to Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado & Wyoming would be greatly appreciated.

Anthony Zwolinski, 27, of Conifer, Colorado, passed away Tuesday morning, June 23, after a brief illness.

Anthony loved music and played keyboards, guitar and trumpet from time to time. He also liked to sing and experiment with recording music; he loved laying down tracks. Anthony instantly liked everyone he ever met, had a great sense of humor and pretty much had a permanent smile on his face.

He is loved by all very much and will be sorely missed. Anthony is survived by his mother Julie Sabeff of Conifer, father Frank Zwolinski of Littleton, sisters Michelle Fitzgerald of Thornton, Rachel Grey of Reno, NV, Amanda Smith of Clarksville, TN and brothers Kevin Zwolinski of Hurst, TX and Daniel Zwolinski of Conifer, as well as a very extensive family and many diverse circles of friends.

Sean Anthony Monahan

Sean Anthony Monahan, age 41, passed away on July 2, 2026, after a battle with a life-threatening illness.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sean was the beloved son of James and Rose Monahan and the cherished brother of Katie Monahan. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Estella Rose and Cambria Marie, whom he loved beyond measure. He is also survived by the girls’ mother, Domonique Pachelli, as well as his beloved nieces and nephews, TrèVaughn, Micah, Kalionna, and Kataleia, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 2690 Baseline Road, Boulder, Colorado.

Sean had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for the outdoors. He embraced everything Colorado had to offer, enjoying both winter and summer activities and finding peace in nature. Although he spent the last 20 years in Colorado, he never lost his love for his hometown of Pittsburgh. He remained a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins throughout his life.

Music was one of Sean’s greatest passions. He earned a degree in music and had an incredible memory for songs. He loved to sing, was always beatboxing, and could brighten any room with his playful personality.

Sean was known for his goofy sense of humor and his ability to make those around him laugh. He seemed to know every line from just about every movie and could recite them effortlessly, often leaving family and friends smiling. Whether he was quoting a favorite movie, singing along to a song, or making someone laugh with his silliness, Sean had a way of bringing joy to the people he loved.

Sean will be remembered for his adventurous heart, his love for family, his passion for music, and the laughter he shared so freely. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Anne Abelein passed away on July 3, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Her memorial service will take place in the chapel at Aspen Mortuaries, Lakewood on Sunday, July 26, at 1:00 p.m. Anne loved colors, and guests are encouraged to wear colorful clothes in her memory.

Anne Norine was born on Jan. 1, 1930, to Anne S. Bucklin and Earl E. Bucklin in Mandan, ND. Anne was their first child and she grew up in the Mandan area with her three younger sisters: Carol, Marlys and Pauline. Anne attended Mandan High School where she starred in the school’s musicals. She had an exceptional voice and usually had a leading role. She graduated from high school in 1948, then attended Bismarck Junior College where she met her future husband, Rex Abelein.

Following a brief courtship, Anne and Rex were married on March 12, 1949. They then moved to Dickinson, ND to attend college. Anne’s time at college was short. Their first child, Lee Anne, was born in December of 1949. Anne’s husband found a teaching position in rural North Dakota at a one-room schoolhouse. The next two children quickly followed: Michal in 1951 and Gregory in 1952. In 1952 they were a family of five living in Minot, ND where Rex was attending college to complete his teaching credentials.

After his graduation, the family of five moved from town to town in North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming. With the family living on a sole income, Anne comfortably worked her role as the one who stretched the monthly paychecks to cover the family’s needs. She was always looking for ways to stretch those checks further. She taught herself to cook and sew. Anne became a magnificent seamstress, making clothes for the entire family.

Throughout her life, Anne’s guiding light and anchor was her relationship with God. Wherever they found themselves, Anne was in the church choir. Her solos were stunning; she was often asked to sing at weddings and funerals.

In 1962, Anne’s husband found a teaching position in Jefferson County. The family moved to the Denver area and settled in Lakewood after a couple of years. As the three Abelein children entered their mid-teens, Anne and Rex decided that they were not done raising children, and their fourth child, Nathan, arrived in December of 1966.

Anne is preceded in death by her husband Rex, parents Anne and Earl, sisters Marlys and Carol, children Lee Anne and Gregory. She is survived by her children Michal (Jim) and Nathan (Merrelyn), 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Patricia "Patsy" Lovisone, 76, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away Thursday morning June 25, 2026.

Born and raised in Denver, Patsy was the daughter of the late Charles and Audrey Cady. Patsy's legacy lives on through her family. She is survived by her daughters, Jacki Hansen and Jen Bagwell; her sister, Audrey Henke; and a large, adoring family that includes numerous grandchildren, Jesse, Taylor, Caleb, Vanessa, Sam and Addy; and one great-grandson, Ewan.

Patsy has been reunited in Peace with her parents, her brothers Terry and Larry, her beloved son, Philip, and Glenn Williams, who preceded her in death.

She spent her career in Human Resources, and telecommunications.

In her lifetime Pat was defined by her fiery spirit, fierce independence, her go getter personality, and the love she gave to others. She is survived by her son Michael, granddaughters Ashley, and Michaila, and great granddaughters Mya, and Aria.

Jeanette Tillman Cole

Jeanette Tillman Cole, born July 18th, 1933, in Valdosta, GA to Henry Young and Neva Mathis Tillman, ended her earthly journey in her beloved Conifer home early morning June 24th, 2026. Jeanette moved to Jefferson County to begin a new life after the death of her husband, Luther M. Cole, in 1960, She began her teaching career in Jefferson County as an elementary classroom teacher and continued for thirteen years. After completing her Master's in Counseling and Guidance at Greeley, she began a 16-year run as a junior high counselor in Evergreen and Arvada. She was loving and much loved in both roles. She maintained contact with many of her students as well as her family and in-laws over the years. She loved to travel, camp, ski, bike, and canoe and was fortunate to have many trips to interesting places all over the U.S and western world. She was an active member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) her whole life. She is survived by her brother and his wife, Young and Penny, her sister Sara, all of Lowndes County, Ga, many nieces and nephews, and a host of wonderful friends and students, and is grateful for the contributions they have all made to her life. She spent a majority of her retirement in Conifer where the beauty of the woods and mountains and visits of friends and family members brought the peace of Paradise, and was a dream fulfilled.

Services and burial will be in Valdosta, Georgia at the family plot.
