April is here… let’s talk autism 💙
Understanding autism is important because it affects how people communicate, process information, and experience their surroundings. When people do not understand this, it can lead to miscommunication, assumptions, or situations where someone’s needs are overlooked.
In real life, this can show up in school, work, or social settings. For example, someone with autism might prefer written instructions over verbal ones, need extra time to respond, or find certain environments overwhelming. Knowing this allows people to adjust in simple ways like being clear, patient, and respectful of different needs. This makes group settings more accessible and helps people participate more comfortably.
Learning how autistic people experience the world helps create environments where differences are understood and supported instead of misunderstood 💙
