Yesterday we performed the first two Mako revision total hips with Mako THA 5.0 at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center! Very humbled and grateful to be the first! We were also the first to use the new Mako 4.0 robots with Q Guidance System in California. I appreciate the hospital’s shared vision in becoming a leader in enabling technology and becoming a revision joint replacement center of excellence. I appreciate all of the support from Stryker, sending out the best of the best to support my first cases! Shannon, Matt and Varun made it a smooth and seamless day with difficult cases.
Added bonus- M&M’s with my face on them 😆 kids loved it!

He genuinely cares about his patients, and it shows! I had a very bad injury, and a very complicated hip replacement surgery. The results of my surgery having been so wonderful. I am so grateful, he truly gave me my life back!

Dr Wassef Performed a total hip replacement on my right hip.

I found him to be outstanding in every way. Before the surgery, but very clear on in every aspect. Also, very patient with me and spent a lot of time explaining the situation.

The surgery and the aftermath have been fantastic so far. The technique Dr. Wassef uses seems to smaller scar and less muscle cutting than other techniques

I am sitting in my P*P's office waiting to get clearance from her for my hip replacement surgery in 3 days. Nothing like waiting til the last minute, right? The problem is, I was never informed about what steps I needed to take before my surgery. I did not receive a call nor a letter explaning what I needed to do. I did receive a call in December but since it was too early, the person said she would call back when it was closer to my appointment. That call never came. So I am stressing out because my surgery is 3 days away and I do not have authorization from my P*P.
Doctor's office staff: please make sure you follow through with all details of a surgery. It's been a pain in the neck trying to get everyrhing done at the last minute.
