Registration for fall sports at Lamar Area Recreation Department ends this Friday. Football conditioning continues this Thursday at 6 pm for all ages for those signed up!

Sharing these comments from the American Academy of Pediatrics president on swimming. We agree 100% about teaching kids to swim early.

In his recent “Letter from the President,” AAP President Dr. Andrew Racine reminds pediatricians and parents that drowning prevention should start early. "We must embrace the mindset that all children should learn to swim – and they should start early,” said Dr. Racine.

In addition to swim lessons, the AAP recommends using several layers of drowning prevention including pool fences, life jackets and close adult supervision around water. Read his full remarks in AAP News: https://bit.ly/4gEIUpq
