A BIG thank you to Barton County Electric for sending somebody out to trim the Pin Oaks on the south side of the Memorial Park. These Pin Oaks were planted the same year the hospital opened (1949), nearly 78 years ago. We are trying to give them another 78 years but this hot weather the past four or five years has taking its toll on the trees, even after all the watering Gordie has done.

So, thank you BCE and the guys you sent, Michael Luton and Ethan Bettis from Arkansas Electric Coop.

I am pleased to announce that we have rescheduled the Sober As A Judge concert. It will be October 3 from 6-8. Unfortunately, Big Ren's was not available for that day but Not Ya Mommas Burgers and Lemonade will be there.

Talked to our onsite engraver and we are shooting for cooler weather in September for our onsite engraving. So, there is still time to get in your order for veteran pavers, hospital bricks, hospital pavers and First Responder names. Next round of engraving will not be until next spring or early summer. We have hosted the Antique Tractor show during the Lamar Free Fair since 2022. This year something new is going on with this event. Jared Lipe and his family have graciously agreed to take over management of the Tractor Show from Sam and Shirley Bull. Jared has a few new things in mind such as a kids tractor pull. It should be fun.

Sam and Shirley want to thank everybody for their support in the past and they hope you will support Jared in this endeavor.

A lot of people have asked me if we relocated the 20 or so squirrels we have trapped to the city park. The answer is no. I take them south to 126 and give them their freedom ;-)

Several people at the Memorial Day ceremony asked me about getting in on the next round of engraving. I will take orders until June 15th. Next round will probably be next spring.
