Johnny Ray Hobbs, 65, of Kershaw, SC, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2026, at his residence.

Johnny was born on Sunday, March 5, 1961, in Lancaster, SC, to the late Melvin and Ethel Terry Hobbs. Throughout his life, he has always been known for his sense of humor and one-of-a-kind personality. He was a hard-working man who was not afraid of manual labor. He spent many years working as a roofer for both Grady Snipes and Todd Snipes Roofing Company. An avid outdoorsman, he was an exceptional hunter and fisherman. He had a talent for always dropping the biggest buck and landing the most crappie, no matter how hard you tried; you were not going to outdo him. If Johnny wasn’t working or spending time with his family, you could guarantee he was either in the woods hunting and running dogs, or was on the water somewhere, rain or shine. Johnny leaves behind a lasting impression on the hearts of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Hobbs.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Cory Hobbs (Kim); sister, Dianne Singer; brother, George Hobbs (Darlene); as well as two grandchildren, Easton and Kara Hobbs; also left to cherish his memory are numerous other family members and dear friends.

William Earl Boone, Jr., affectionately known as “Earl”, 57, of Lancaster, SC, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 12, 2026, in Columbia, SC.

Earl was born on Sunday, August 17, 1969, in Lancaster, SC, to the late William Sr. and Judy Saxon Boone. Throughout his life, Earl was known for his passion for helping others. Whether it was odd jobs or large projects, he completed them with expert skill and precision. He was a very artistic and creative man, with a sense of humor to match his large personality. A lover of all things outdoors, he particularly enjoyed camping with his family and hiking in the woods. He leaves behind an impact on the hearts of his family and friends, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kassie Boone (Brandt Gainey), Patrick, and Noah Boone; brother, Eddie Boone; grandchildren, Graesyn and Wyatt Gainey; also left to cherish his memory are numerous other relatives and dear friends.

The family would like to encourage those struggling with addiction or su***de to reach out and ask for help. There is nothing wrong with getting help, and we want to remind you that you are stronger than the addiction that holds you. Call or Text “988” to reach the Crisis Help Lifeline Team.
