While we canât all blame our dogs for our back pain, sleeping position can play a role in how your spine feels when you wake up.
Follow these tips to keep your spine healthy and in the best alignment:
đď¸ Side sleeper? Keep your knees slightly bent and place a pillow between your knees to help keep your hips and spine aligned. Make sure your head pillow keeps your neck in a neutral position.
đď¸ Back sleeper? Try placing a pillow underneath your knees to reduce stress on your lower back. Make sure your head pillow keeps your neck in a neutral position.
đď¸ Stomach sleeper? This position can put extra stress on your neck and lower back. If possible, try transitioning to side or back sleeping.
And remember: a supportive pillow and mattress, good sleep posture, regular movement, and taking care of your spine throughout the day can all make a difference.
