To everything there is a season and this is the season of reminiscing and releasing. Dave and I are in the process of downsizing and cleaning out the bungalow. (We plan to list it this fall.)
It signifies an end of an era- the era of hosting sleepovers with giggling girls and muddy crayfish wielding boys. I can't help but get sentimental as I recall the backyard picnics and raucous family dinners hosted on Main Street. Dave and I may be a bit "woo woo", but to us, every place has a vibe. And the bungalow has always been a place of warmth (unless we ran out of propane 🤭) and gathering with those we love the most.

This also means after we sell the house, Dave will no longer be seeing folks in the New Providence office on Tuesdays. We welcome our Southern End folks to come up to see us in Lancaster. (Date for phase out of that office is to be determined.)

Ok, friends- any tips of how to best clear out, host a yard sale, and get rid of Barbies with bad haircuts would be greatly appreciated! And if you know anyone who would like a solid stone Cape Cod with great vibes, let us know.♥️

These are a few photos from our trip to Sherman College of Chiropractic for Dave's Continuing Education classes. There is something special about being surrounded by like minded folks who are so passionate about their profession. The first photo shows Dave with his mentor, Dr. Ben Tanner, a chiropractor from Manheim with whom Dave did his externship in 1990. Dr. Ben is 72 years old and still practicing! Like Dr. Ben, we, too, hope to continue to offer individualized, hands on care to y'all as long as we are able!

Apparently there was a segment on NPR about AI. The tech correspondent used AI in many aspects of her life. She even experienced a massage performed by a robot! I can guarantee that will not be something offered here on Prince St. 😊 I will be asking how to modify the pressure to best meet your needs (and probably chatting with you as I do.)

I would follow him anywhere (except into tight slot canyons or into the freezing water in the Narrows.😜) So, he will be heading to Spartanburg, SC for Lyceum (a chiropractic convention) at Sherman College of Chiropractic. Naturally I will follow him. Therefore, the office will be closed April 29- May 4. Pop in tomorrow or Monday before we head out of town.

We look forward to sharing new chiropractic research and techniques upon our return.

Dang, Utah, you are a treasure! So many rock formations and muted desert colors. We have hiked through hoodoos in Bryce, 4 wheeled through Grand Staircase Escalante, and soaked in a galvanized tub by our campfire. What a way to celebrate Dave’s landmark birthday a tad early!

Happy Easter from the Windy City! This town has incredible food and engaging museums. We have learned one never should put ketchup on a hotdog and that midwestern friendly is legit. Spending time exploring the city with our kids was a treasure.
Next stop- Utah!

These shelves are filled with things that make me happy. Several of these items were gifts from folks I love. Others were treasures from favorite shops or antique markets. They are a little quirky with local color- kind of like each of us. 😊 The second pic is just a reminder- you are valued and appreciated (quirks and all!)

Just a heads up that we will be traveling in April. The office will be closed April 3-10 as we visit family in Chicago and then hit two National Parks in UT. We would love any hike suggestions for Zion or Bryce (as long as they don’t involve hand holds on metal rungs or the possibility of plunging to our deaths!!)

Here's today's tip: buy yourself flowers just because you need a little color after such a dreary winter. Dance to your favorite song just because you kinda can't stay still when you hear it. Call that old friend that popped into your head just because you remembered your shenanigans from your younger years. Read that book that's been on your bedside table for months just because you want a good thriller or mushy romance. Do the things that bring you joy!

Psst- here's an extra tip: receiving a massage on a flannel sheets with a beagle snoring softly nearby can be very cozy too.🤭
Happy Friday, friends!

One of our greatest honors as care providers is holding space for folks during their massages/adjustments. We have heard a lot of stories over the years. It is not unusual for our clients to express sadness or frustration. And it can be difficult not to absorb those feelings.

At a training session at church this week, I learned a lovely grounding technique. When one is feeling anxious or upset, a person can hold their hands over their heart, close their eyes, and envision someone that makes them feel safe. The reaction was pretty remarkable. I felt my heart rate slow and a sense of warmth infuse me.

So, my friends, this Valentine’s Day isn’t about chocolate hearts or bouquets of flowers. Instead Dave and I wish one thing for you. May you have that kind of person in your life- a safe space who warms your heart. May it be a partner, a best friend, a family member or a beloved pet.

(How about this watercolor of us?! Thanks to Maria Tomesetti who did a pop up at Proof.)

This photo is from Dry Tortugas National Park, one of our stops during our recent FL trip. It is one of the most remote NP's- accessible only by sea plane or a 2.5 hour boat ride. It was quite the adventure as the waves lifted our catamaran into the air! (Ask Dr. Dave if his wrist bands were effective vs sea sickness.🤭) We are thankful to scratch another park off our poster though.
It looks like we may have quite the adventure here in Lancaster Sunday into Monday with a major snowstorm brewing. Grab your milk, eggs, a good library book and your woolies! Dr. Dave has some available appointments tomorrow if you want to reschedule your Monday appointment. And we will be here Wednesday if you need a tune up post shoveling!
