💙 Big news—and an even bigger moment of recognition.
We’re proud to share that Leanna Ballester has been named the statewide Peer Advocate of the Year by PAPSC!
This honor reflects something we see every day: her deep commitment to showing up for people with authenticity, compassion, patience, and unwavering dedication.
As a Lead Peer and Co-Responder within our Specialty Programs Division, Leanna is on the front lines—primarily alongside the Manheim Township Police Department, and in partnership with West Lampeter, Pequea Township, East Hempfield, and Strasburg Borough PDs. She responds directly to individuals in mental health and substance use crises, offering connection, care, and a different kind of support in some of life’s hardest moments.
This work calls for trust, presence, and heart—and Leanna brings all of that, every single day.
Since beginning in 2018 as a warm-handoff overdose responder, she has grown into a strong, steady leader, earning her CRS and CPS certifications and becoming a trusted force within our organization and community.
Leanna—your work changes lives. We are so proud to stand beside you and so grateful you’re part of this team. 💙
Join us in celebrating this well-deserved recognition 👏
