👋 NEW HERE? LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF.
Hi, I’m Jarrett (JD), an Occupational Therapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist.
A large part of my work today focuses on helping people understand, treat, and manage lymphedema and chronic swelling.
And one thing I’ve learned is that many people are told they have lymphedema without being given enough information about what comes next.
Why am I swelling?
Will the swelling ever go away?
Do I have to wear compression forever?
What type of compression do I actually need?
What can I do at home?
What happens if my lymphedema gets worse?
Those are exactly the types of questions I want this page to help answer.
My goal with JD the OT: Lymphedema Management is to take what can be a confusing condition and make it easier to understand and manage in everyday life.
Here you’ll find:
✅ Easy to understand information about lymphedema and chronic swelling
✅ Compression garments, wraps, pumps, and other management options
✅ Exercises and movement strategies that support lymphatic flow
✅ Skin care and infection prevention education
✅ Tips for managing lymphedema at home
✅ Information about Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) and Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
✅ Answers to common lymphedema questions and misconceptions
✅ Helpful products and tools that can make daily management easier
✅ Education based on my experience treating people with lymphedema
Whether you were recently diagnosed, have been managing lymphedema for years, are at risk of developing it, or are helping care for someone with lymphedema, I hope you'll find something here that helps.
👇 If you're new to the page, introduce yourself in the comments. You don't have to share anything personal, even telling me what lymphedema topic you'd like to learn more about helps me decide what to cover next.
And if one of my posts helps you, save it or share it with someone who might need it.
Lymphedema management isn't about doing everything perfectly.
It's about understanding your condition, having the right tools, and finding a routine that works for your life.
Welcome to JD the OT: Lymphedema Management.
