A year ago today, I received the news no one wants to hear: you have stage 1 breast cancer. My world was rocked instantly, never to be the same.
As I reflect on that moment, and subsequent moments, I am marveling at the Lord's care for me through that incredible journey. From those first dark moments of cold fear and bewilderment, to the peace and love I was showered with: not only from the Lord but my husband, family and friends. I have been so blessed and I have so much to be grateful for!
I experienced a peace that was beyond all understanding, and an experience of truly living out the promises that the Bible talks about: peace in the midst of a storm, quietness, feeling the Lord's presence and Him being so near to me.
It was an extraordinary experience. One that changed my life for the better and gave me greater understanding about how I am to live my life.
I now have the privilege of working with women who are on the same journey, albeit with different characteristics, and to see them recover and grow stronger. I get to teach them how to take better care of themselves and how to strength train. The excitement they feel when they get stronger is contagious, and to be a part of this is a wonderful feeling, and amazing.
Thank you to my family and friends for their support, and for checking in on me. Even to this day. You are truly the best and I love you.
Thank you Jesus for always being near to me, holding me in your arms and loving me with an everlasting love
❤️❤️❤️
