New Year’s resolutions are the 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝓈𝓉. How many times in the past few days have you seen “New Year, New Me”? How many new diets, detoxes, workouts have been hoarding the space on all your feeds? Just FYI. Any influencer, gym or diet company promising you a “new you” in 2021 doesn’t actually care about you. They care about taking your money. 💰
I totally get it. Especially after this crazy year and coming off the high of the holidays, it’s easy to want to kick off the new year with a new diet, or detox or workout plan. It is enticing and makes us set big goals for the new year. Usually those goals center around the topics of “losing X number of pounds” or “stop eating X”...
But unfortunately, new year’s resolutions tend to be things that are unattainable, unrealistic and often set us up to fail rather than succeed. Wanting to be healthier (𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘵) is great but let’s do it in a way that won’t leave us hating ourselves in a month.
Let’s start 2021 with some positive intentions.
✨ Be nicer to myself
✨ Forgive myself when I make mistakes
✨ Give myself grace
✨ Say “no” to things that aren’t serving you
✨ Talk to myself like I would a good friend
So pop the champagne. 🍾 Kiss at midnight. 💋 Zoom with friends. 💻Tomorrow is 2021 but you are still the amazing you. You don't need to do anything by January 31 to prove you are worthy.
