New Year’s resolutions are the 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝓈𝓉. How many times in the past few days have you seen “New Year, New Me”? How many new diets, detoxes, workouts have been hoarding the space on all your feeds? Just FYI. Any influencer, gym or diet company promising you a “new you” in 2021 doesn’t actually care about you. They care about taking your money. 💰

I totally get it. Especially after this crazy year and coming off the high of the holidays, it’s easy to want to kick off the new year with a new diet, or detox or workout plan. It is enticing and makes us set big goals for the new year. Usually those goals center around the topics of “losing X number of pounds” or “stop eating X”...

But unfortunately, new year’s resolutions tend to be things that are unattainable, unrealistic and often set us up to fail rather than succeed. Wanting to be healthier (𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘵) is great but let’s do it in a way that won’t leave us hating ourselves in a month.

Let’s start 2021 with some positive intentions.

✨ Be nicer to myself
✨ Forgive myself when I make mistakes
✨ Give myself grace
✨ Say “no” to things that aren’t serving you
✨ Talk to myself like I would a good friend

So pop the champagne. 🍾 Kiss at midnight. 💋 Zoom with friends. 💻Tomorrow is 2021 but you are still the amazing you. You don't need to do anything by January 31 to prove you are worthy.

🙌🏼 for enjoying your Thanksgiving without guilt.

What I’ve been telling every client is don’t put food before family (or friends)... aka, don’t spend too much time worrying about what’s going on your plate and miss these moments.

If you eat 3 meals a day, 365 days a year, you eat 1095 meals. Thanksgiving dinner (or lunch, linner… whatever you call it) is literally .𝟬𝟬𝟬𝟵% of all the meals you eat in a year. So kick back, enjoy a second helping of stuffing or pie, or put two scoops of ice cream on that pie. Tomorrow will not make or break your health goals.

Hey friends. 👋🏼 After an extended break from this account. I’m back. 💻
Where did I go? Honestly just offline. When I first started this account, my goal was to develop healthy & easy recipes and share those with all of you. The reality is, I literally never create recipes. I either follow someone else’s or just throw some stuff together. So this account became more stressful than enjoyable. So I signed off. ❌
I find social media mentally exhausting. I also have found that with a lot of my clients (and myself), it leads to low self esteem, comparison and confusion about what direction to go with their own health and wellness journey. 🤷🏼‍♀️
BUT it’s because of those reasons that I am signing back on. I made the decision to join my fellow dietitians in leading the conversations about health and wellness. And… honestly fight back against shaming diet culture and influencers that have no working knowledge of nutrition. (Sorry not sorry.) 🤭
My focus will primarily be to help busy working moms on their own health journey while trying to be a role model for their families, because that’s who I am, what I do and what I know best. Also, I love memes - food memes, mom memes and adulting memes. You’ll find those here too. 👌🏼
To make this long post short. Let’s bullet point it. 🤜🏼
▪️Hello, I’m back, I don’t create recipes.
▪️I’m here to provide nutrition and wellness tips for busy working moms and their families.
▪️This is not one size fits all.
▪️Let's have some laughs. 😊

Ready to kick off the weekend with this Banza rice bowl. 🍲
Yes, your favorite pasta can now be enjoyed as chickpea ! Still packed with protein (11g per serving) and fiber (5g per serving) and it cooks up super quick! 💪🏼I topped my with balsamic roasted Brussels sprouts and broccoli, turmeric roasted tofu, carrots and an almond/yogurt/avocado dressing... and a few shakes of the magical everything bagel seasoning. 😊 What toppings would you use? 🥦

Happy International Women's Day! 💪🏼
While women should be celebrated every day, today's a special day to be reminded that we are strong, fierce and can do anything we dream of. 💜

Obligatory fastnacht photo. 🥯
A Pennsylvania Dutch tradition falling on Fat Tuesday. Fastnachts are heavy, yeast raised donuts. Historically, Germans would empty their cabinets of items like butter, lard, flour and sugar and fill up on delicious foods before Lenten fast. In modern day, they're just pretty damn good. Picked up a few for my lucky hubby to indulge in today. 😊
What are your Fat Tuesday traditions?

A twist on your traditional flatbread. This Tropical Fruit Flatbread is sweet and a little tart and is totally customizable. 💁🏼‍♀️
This flatbread brings together mango, pineapple, mozzarella (I'm using ) and basil leaves. It's tpped with a balsamic ginger glaze to bring it all together. Recipe available by clicking the link in my bio. ⬆️ Tell me below your favorite flatbread toppings. ⬇️

If you followed along with my story yesterday, you know I made Meghan Markle's zucchini bolognese as a belated Valentine's Day meal. 💚 This is the final product, I topped it with Earth Grown mozzarella and a few extra red pepper flakes... also paired with a good glass of wine. 🍷
Overall, if you are looking for that true meaty bolognese, this really isn't it. BUT, the zucchini does deconstruct and the flavor is good... a little spicy, a little salty, nothing overpowering. 👍🏼
If you have 4 1/2 hours (😬), I would recommend giving this recipe a try! I followed along with a recipe from , but if you google "Meghan Markle bolognese", you will get a bunch of hits. 🍝

Upgrade your plans with these vegan Tempeh Lettuce Wraps! These guys are savory and pack a punch of flavor. 🤜🏼 Best of all, they come together in less than 20 minutes. ⏰ Not worried about being plant based? Easily substitute a lean protein. 👌🏼
