🏅 250 athletes. 12 communities. 10 events. One unforgettable day!

What a way to celebrate Active Aging Week!

After an eight-year hiatus, the Friendship Games made their return on October 2, and Meadowood was honored to host this incredible day of friendly competition, camaraderie, and community spirit. From cheering on athletes to celebrating medal winners, the day was filled with memorable moments. And the excitement didn't stop there, the Games even made headlines on NBC10 Philadelphia and the front page of The North Penn Reporter!

Every participating community took home at least one medal, with Meadowood leading the medal count with seven! We've wrapped up all the highlights, memorable moments, and community celebrations in our latest blog.

A picture-perfect day! 🎉🏆

Today, Meadowood was proud to welcome athletes from 11 communities, all members of SEPPA, for the 10th Friendship Games.

From the moment the buses arrived, Meadowood residents and staff were there with pom-poms in hand, cheering on the athletes all the way to the finish line.

We are incredibly grateful to all of the Meadowood staff and resident volunteers who helped make the day possible. Thank you to all of the communities, athletes, volunteers and supporters who joined us!

We could not have asked for a better day to celebrate friendship, community and active aging.

An exciting new chapter is beginning at Meadowood!

We are excited to announce Tom Hecker as Meadowood’s next President and CEO, beginning November 2.

Tom brings extensive healthcare leadership experience, but what stood out throughout the process was his appreciation for what makes Meadowood so special, our people, our culture and the strong sense of community shared by our residents and team members.

As we welcome Tom, we also begin celebrating the remarkable legacy of Paul Nordeman, who will retire after nearly 20 years as Meadowood’s President and CEO. Paul’s leadership has helped shape Meadowood into the vibrant, welcoming community it is today, and we look forward to honoring his many contributions in the months ahead.
