Day 3 of Nurses Week features Beckie, our Director of Sales and Marketing, whose path to senior living was shaped by compassion, dedication and a lifelong commitment of caring for others.
Her path began with earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and discovering a passion for the geriatric population while working nights for five years on an inpatient behavioral health unit, where she gained invaluable experience caring for individuals living with dementia and Alzheimerās disease.
Although her original plan was to pursue nursing immediately, life took a different route. She devoted time to raising her family while spending nearly 20 years in the restaurant industry, managing front-of-house teams and building a strong foundation in leadership, service, and compassion.
Once her boys were in 1st and 2nd grade, she revisited her dream of nursing through the accelerated nursing program at Lansing Community College, where she obtained her RN degree. That next chapter led to roles in home care, acute care orthopedics, the operating room, and eventually case management.
That experience ultimately opened the door to senior livingāa field she has proudly called home since 2017.
After years spent helping patients and families navigate post-acute care and rehabilitation placement, she found her true passion in assisted living and memory care. Supporting families through the continuum of care during some of lifeās most difficult transitions is both an honor and a calling.
Having walked alongside her own father through Lewy body dementia, she brings a deep sense of empathy and understanding to every family who tours The Courtyard at Delta.
During Nurses Week, Beckie is especially grateful for the journey that brought her here, for the families who place their trust in her, and for the opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to making a meaningful difference every day.
