🦶PTTD stands for Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction, which is a condition caused by changes to the posterior tibial tendon. When changes impair this tendon’s ability to support the arch, the foot flattens, thus leading to this condition. PTTD is a progressive condition, meaning it will keep worsening if not properly treated.

PTTD is often called “adult acquired flatfoot” because it is the most common type of flatfoot developed during adulthood. Generally this condition only develops in one foot, but it is possible for some people to develop it in both feet. Overuse of the posterior tibial tendon while running, walking, hiking or climbing is the usual cause of PTTD.
Symptoms of PTTD may include pain, redness, warmth and swelling around the inside of the foot. There might also be a noticeable flattening of the foot and/or an inward rolling of the ankle. If left untreated, PTTD pain can spread to other areas of the foot and can lead to the arch of the foot flattening even more. Therefore, early treatment is advised.
Non-surgical treatments of the area include custom orthotics or braces, immobilization of the area using a boot, physical therapy and shoe modifications. Over-the-counter pain medications can be used to treat any inflammation and pain caused by the condition.

🚧Construction Update!🚧

🚧 Airport Road Construction Update 🚧

The moment we have all been waiting for... Airport Road is now open to traffic!

Please continue to use caution as crews will be completing final restoration work along the shoulders over the next few weeks. Temporary lane closures may be in place during this work.

In addition, the newly installed traffic signal at Airport Road and Stoll Road will remain in a 4-way flash pattern for a few weeks while motorists become accustomed to the new traffic pattern.
