Congrats to our current ELDRS chair Susie Chalgian on this huge win!
Extra Proud of CT’s Susan Chalgian today. The Michigan Court of Appeals released a published opinion yesterday in a case she argued. As a result of Susan’s advocacy, the Court of Appeals directs that the current Medicaid policy which penalizes friends and family members who get paid to help their loved ones stay out of the nursing home violates federal law and must be vacated or revised. This change will benefit the hundreds or thousands of Michigan families now and well into the future. Susan’s case is called Estate of Charla Brown v Department of Health and Human Services.
