In light of the recent news involving a funeral home where numerous bodies were discovered, we want to be clear about our policies and our commitment to serving families with dignity, transparency, and care.

Effective August 1, we are no longer accepting new cases submitted through outside funeral homes until further notice. This decision allows us to protect the integrity of our operations and maintain our standards and relationship with the State.

Families who wish to work with Peace and Paradise Crematory may contact us directly. You do not need to go through another funeral home to arrange a cremation or memorial service with us.

Your loved one deserves to be treated with dignity and your family deserves honesty, accountability, and peace of mind every step of the way.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Spencer Leak Jr., our friend, a respected funeral director, community leader, and compassionate servant whose life’s work helped thousands of families navigate some of their most difficult moments. Through generations of service, the Leak family built a legacy of dignity, compassion, and commitment to the communities they served throughout Chicago and beyond.

At Peace & Paradise Crematory, we had the honor of serving many of the families entrusted to Leak & Sons Funeral Homes. We witnessed firsthand the care, professionalism, and humanity that Spencer brought to his work and to every family he encountered. His dedication to ensuring that no family was left behind, regardless of circumstance, earned him the respect and admiration of an entire community.

Chicago has lost more than a funeral director, it has lost a steward of history, a champion for families, and a man who carried forward a legacy that has served our community for generations. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Leak family, the entire Leak & Sons staff, and the countless families whose lives were touched by Spencer’s kindness and service.

May his legacy continue to inspire all of us who are called to serve others in their time of need.
