August is American Artist Appreciation Month, and we'd like to spotlight some of the talented employee artists here at Miller's!

Meet Heather Krieger, a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and proud artist! Heather enjoys painting and draws inspiration from the world around her. Her beautiful crane painting has become a familiar piece of artwork for therapy patients at Miller's, as it has a permanent home on the wall in the therapy gym.

Meet our In-Service Director, Michelle Barnhart!

Michelle has been a valued member of the Miller's team for the past five years, bringing more than 30 years of healthcare experience and a passion for helping others succeed.

As our In-Service Director, Michelle oversees staff education, including new employee orientation, ongoing in-service training, and BNA/CNA training programs. She is passionate about introducing new people to the healthcare field and providing an accessible pathway to rewarding careers in healthcare.

We are incredibly grateful for Michelle's dedication, leadership, and commitment to helping our team grow while inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals. Thank you, Michelle, for everything you do!

Residents made a splash celebrating Shark Week! Throughout the week, they enjoyed shark-themed games, trivia, crafts, and special treats while learning fun facts about these fascinating creatures. Everyone had a blast diving into the theme and making memories together.

At Miller's, we understand the importance of incorporating sensory stimulation into our activities. That's why we love planning programs that engage the senses of sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch.

Our residents had a great time with this hands-on rock digging activity, carefully chipping away at chalk stones to uncover hidden gemstones and dinosaurs. Along the way, they strengthened their fine motor skills, stimulated their sense of touch, and enjoyed the excitement of discovering what was inside.

Learning, movement, and fun all came together in one rewarding activity!
