The second session of WyTN’s AI Webinar series is coming up! Join us to learn about AI Integration and Note Taking. Dr. Gigi Magan MD, MPH will present this webinar on September 21st at 11:00 PM via zoom. Dr. Gigi Magan, MD, MPH is a bilingual family physician whose work focuses on how artificial intelligence is actually deployed in primary care, and on whether it works for the patients most often left out. She practices outpatient family medicine at a community health center in Northern California, uses an ambient AI scribe daily in English and Spanish visits, and has studied ambient AI scribe implementation across four family medicine residency programs. She is a Certified Epic Physician Builder, completed the AI in Primary Care program through the American Board of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, and serves as a peer reviewer in clinical informatics. Congratulations Timmy on receiving a scholarship from Ruby’s Rainbow! Timmy is part of the Inclusive Post-Secondary Education program here at the University of Wyoming. We are very proud of him and excited for him to have a great semester!

This past weekend was the ribbon cutting ceremony for Laramie's new bike park!

Located behind the Laramie Rec Center at 820 Regency Drive, the new Laramie Bike Park includes beginner, intermediate, and advanced mountain bike features, including downhill trails, a skills course, progressive jump lines, and Wyoming’s first asphalt pump track.

As part of the ribbon cutting and adaptive recreation demonstration, attendees had the opportunity to see adaptive mountain bikes throughout the park, learn about the wide range of adaptive mountain bike technologies available today, and explore how different disabilities require different equipment and design considerations.

Participants also had the opportunity to speak directly with Joe Stone, founder of Unified Dirt, a company dedicated to improving accessibility and usability on trails and public lands across the United States. Drawing from his experience as a wheelchair user and his knowledge of outdoor recreation systems, Joe works with land managers, government agencies, and nonprofits to assess trails, provide design recommendations, and help create more equitable access to nature for people of all abilities.

Wyoming Assistive Technology Resources (WATR), part of the Wyoming Institute for Disabilities (WIND), also had an adaptive bike from the WATR lab on display during the event. WATR works to meet the assistive technology needs of individuals with disabilities and provides resources and information about available assistive technology.
