Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a reminder to check for medicines that are expired or no longer needed. If your household receives hospice care, ask the hospice team which medicines are still part of the care plan and how to dispose of those no longer needed. 💊 National Check Your Meds Day 💊 is a reminder to review your medications with a pharmacist or healthcare professional. Include prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and supplements. For hospice caregivers, ask what each medication does, when to give it, and which side effects or changes to report. Keep the current medication list handy and check with the care team before making changes.

During National Health Education Week, we encourage families to ask questions about hospice:
What support is available? Where can care be provided? Who do we call when we need help?
Hospice focuses on comfort and support for people with a terminal illness and their families. Care can often be provided where a person lives, including their home, assisted living community, or nursing facility.
You do not have to have every answer before starting a conversation. We’re here to help you understand your options.

A little something sweet for the people who help keep patient care moving!
Kazandra Blanquez, Account Executive, and Stephanie Casarez, Clinical Account Executive, celebrated Case Management Week by delivering treats to local case managers. Stephanie also stopped by area hospitals with snacks for ER nurses and case managers.
Strong communication between hospice, hospitals, and case managers helps families better understand their care options and supports smoother transitions when hospice may be appropriate.

In hospice, education matters at every level. Helping teams explain care options clearly and listen to each family’s concerns supports more informed conversations.
