The Atlas vertebra is the first vertebra in the spine, located below the occiput (the back of your head). It is an important part of your spinal column because it helps protect your brain stem and spinal cord. In addition to being a protective structure, research has shown that misalignments in this area can lead to problems throughout your body. It can cause issues with vision, headaches, migraines, neck pain, and even chronic pain throughout your body.
If you experience these symptoms or have had them for a long time without improvement, it may be time to see an advanced orthogonal doctor like us! If you aren’t near our office, we can help you find an upper cervical practice near you.
