Neuropathy can affect more than sensation.
Burning, tingling, numbness, and nerve pain can also change the way you stand, walk, and move. Over time, the body may begin compensating, creating additional muscular tension and strain.
That is why my approach often combines electroacupuncture with Meilus Neuromuscular Therapy.
Electroacupuncture allows me to stimulate selected acupuncture points through the needles themselves, while Meilus Neuromuscular Therapy helps me address the tight, overworked, and compensating muscles that may develop when movement changes.
Two different tools. Two different roles. One individualized treatment plan.
Depending on the patient, I may also incorporate traditional acupuncture, homeopathic remedies, injections, and other supportive therapies.
My goal is not simply to ask whether something hurts less. I want to know whether you are:
Walking more comfortably
Sleeping better
Standing longer
Feeling steadier
Doing more of what you want to do

Neuropathy is rarely just one problem, so I don’t believe in treating it with just one tool.
Burning, tingling, numbness, electric sensations, sensitivity, and discomfort in the feet can also change the way you stand, walk, and move. Over time, muscles can tighten and compensate because the body is trying to protect painful or poorly functioning areas.
That is why my neuropathy approach often combines electroacupuncture with Meilus Neuromuscular Therapy.
With electroacupuncture, I place acupuncture needles at selected points and connect gentle electrical stimulation directly to the needles. There are no adhesive pads. This allows me to combine acupuncture with controlled stimulation while still working through the acupuncture points and channels.
Then I use Meilus Neuromuscular Therapy to address another part of the picture. Neuropathy can change gait and movement, causing certain muscles to tighten, shorten, or work harder than they should. Meilus allows me to work directly with those muscular tension and compensation patterns.
The goal is not to assume that tight muscles caused the neuropathy. The goal is to recognize that nerve symptoms and muscular compensation can exist at the same time, and both may need attention.
Depending on the individual, I may also incorporate traditional acupuncture, homeopathic remedies, injections, and other supportive therapies.
Most importantly, I don’t use the same protocol for everyone.
I assess. I treat. I reassess.
Is the burning changing? Are you sleeping better? Walking more comfortably? Standing longer? Feeling steadier?
Those are the changes that matter.

Burning. Tingling. Numbness. Electric pain. Feet that feel hot, cold, overly sensitive, or sometimes barely there at all.

Peripheral neuropathy can affect far more than your feet. It can change the way you walk, disturb your sleep, affect balance, and cause your body to compensate in ways you may not even realize.

I’ve been seeing more neuropathy patients in the clinic, so I put together a detailed new article explaining:

what peripheral neuropathy is
why symptoms can feel so different from person to person
why neuropathy can affect walking and muscle function
how I use acupuncture and electroacupuncture
where Meilus Neuromuscular Therapy fits in
why I believe in Assess. Treat. Reassess.

If you or someone you know is dealing with burning, tingling, numbness, or neuropathic discomfort, this is a good place to start.

Every visit should show you something.

Pain is important, but it is not the only way I measure progress.

Sometimes improvement looks like better range of motion. Sometimes it looks like less muscular tension, easier movement, or being able to do something that was difficult before treatment.

That is why I place so much value on:

Assess. Treat. Reassess.

First, I look at what your body is doing.
Then I choose the treatment based on what I find.
Then I check again to see what changed.

For some patients, Neuromuscular Therapy helps reduce pain by relieving muscular tension and the pull of opposing muscles. For others, acupuncture helps stimulate the body and support healthy flow. Sometimes the best approach is a combination of therapies.

The goal is not to guess.
The goal is to learn what your body needs, respond with the right tools, and make progress visible.

Because progress does not always look dramatic, but it should be meaningful.

“What can I do now that I couldn’t do before?”

Pain gets most of the attention, but it isn’t the only way I measure progress.

Can you turn your head farther?
Reach higher?
Stand longer?
Get out of a chair more easily?
Move without that same pulling or restriction?

Those changes tell me something.

That is why I like to establish a starting point before treatment, choose the therapy based on what I find, and then check the same movement again afterward.

Sometimes Neuromuscular Therapy helps reduce the muscular tension and opposing pull that was limiting movement. Sometimes acupuncture, cupping, homeopathy, or another therapy fits what I am seeing. Often, it is a combination.

But the important part is that we look again.

Because improvement should not only be:

“I think I feel a little better.”

Whenever possible, I want you to be able to say:

“Wait... I couldn’t do that before.”

That is progress worth noticing.

Progress is easier to trust when you can actually see it.

When a patient tells me, “It still hurts,” that does not always mean nothing has changed.

Maybe the shoulder moves farther. Maybe there is less pulling through the muscles. Maybe turning, reaching, bending, or standing feels easier. Those changes matter, and they give us useful information about what the body is responding to.

That is why I am placing even more emphasis on a simple process in my clinic:

Assess. Treat. Reassess.

First, I look at where you are starting, including movement, range of motion, tension, pain, and function.

Then I choose the treatment based on what I find. Neuromuscular Therapy may help reduce muscular tension and the pull between opposing muscles. Acupuncture can help stimulate the body and support healthy flow. Depending on the individual, I may also incorporate cupping, homeopathy, homeopathic injections, or other therapies available in the clinic.

Then we check again.

What changed? What has improved? What still needs attention?

I do not want treatment to simply be something that happens while you lie on a table. I want you to understand what we are working on and, whenever possible, be able to feel and see your progress.

How do you know if a treatment is actually helping?

Pain matters, but pain is not the only way I measure progress.

Can you raise your arm farther?
Can you turn your neck more comfortably?
Has the pulling or muscle tension decreased?
Can you stand, bend, walk, or move more easily than you could before?

This is why I am placing even more emphasis in my clinic on three simple steps:

Assess. Treat. Reassess.

First, I look at what your body is doing and where movement, tension, pain, or function may be limited.

Then I choose the treatment tools that make sense for what I find. That may include Neuromuscular Therapy, acupuncture, homeopathy, cupping, homeopathic injections, or a combination of therapies.

Then we check again.

Neuromuscular Therapy, for example, can help reduce pain by relieving excessive muscle tension and addressing muscles that may be pulling against one another. Acupuncture works differently, helping stimulate the body and restore healthier flow through the channels.

Different tools. Different purposes. One goal: helping your body function better.

And sometimes the most important progress isn't simply, “My pain is gone.”

It is:

“Look, I can move farther than I could when I walked in.”

That is progress worth seeing.

Your body usually whispers before it starts shouting.

Recurring muscle tension, reduced range of motion, headaches, poor sleep, fatigue, or pain that keeps coming back may seem minor at first, but they can be early signs that something needs attention.

In my clinic, I do not believe in waiting until a small problem becomes a major one.

I look at the whole picture, how you are moving, where your body is compensating, what feels restricted, and what may be contributing to the problem. From there, I can choose from several different treatment options, including **acupuncture, Neuromuscular Therapy with the Meilus, cupping, homeopathy, movement and muscle assessment, and homeopathic injections when appropriate.

Having these therapies available in one place allows me to go beyond simply relaxing a tight muscle or treating one painful spot. Different tools can address different parts of the problem, and sometimes the most effective approach is a combination.

I have also been very encouraged by the results we are seeing with our homeopathic injections, and I am pleased to have them available as another option for patients when they fit the treatment plan.

Most importantly, I want to know whether treatment is creating meaningful change.

Can you turn farther?
Reach higher?
Move more comfortably?
Sleep better?
Do something today that was difficult before?

Assess. Treat. Reassess.

You do not have to wait until your body forces you to pay attention.

If it has been giving you warning signs, now may be the right time to listen.

Your body often gives you warning signs before a small problem becomes a much bigger one.

Recurring muscle tension, reduced range of motion, headaches, fatigue, poor sleep, or pain that keeps returning are all signs I pay attention to in my clinic. My goal is not simply to make an area feel better for an hour. I want to understand what is happening, treat appropriately, and look for meaningful changes in how you feel and function.

I use several therapies because I do not believe every patient needs the same approach. Depending on what I find, treatment may include acupuncture, cupping, Neuromuscular Therapy using the Meilus technology, movement and muscle assessment, homeopathy, or a combination of therapies.

This allows me to go beyond a traditional massage or a single type of treatment. I can work directly with tight and restricted muscles, address pain and movement, and support the patient from several different angles, all within one clinic.

I have also been very pleased with the response I am seeing from our homeopathic injections. When appropriate for the individual patient, they give me another treatment option to incorporate into a broader plan, and we now have them available at the clinic.

One of the things I value most about having multiple therapies available is that I can adjust treatment according to the person in front of me rather than trying to fit every patient into the same treatment.

Assess. Treat. Reassess.

Your body speaks. The question is, are you listening?

Tightness that keeps returning.
Stiffness that takes longer to loosen up.
Fatigue that feels harder to shake.
Stress that starts showing up physically.

These signs can be easy to ignore because they do not always feel serious in the moment. But when the same symptoms continue to return, your body may be asking for more attention.

At Acupuncture & Homeopathy Clinic, we look at the whole picture, not just one symptom. Through Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Neuromuscular Therapy, Cupping, and personalized care, we work with each patient to support better movement, balance, function, and overall wellbeing.

You do not have to wait until your body is shouting.

Sometimes the most important thing you can do for your health is notice the whisper.

What small sign has your body been giving you lately?
