While Father's Day has passed, our appreciation for the people who support, guide, encourage, and care for their families continues.

To the fathers and father figures who show up with love.

To the grandparents, mentors, and chosen family who help raise and support children.

And to the mothers and caregivers who carry both roles, often without recognition.

Thank you.

The work you do matters. The love you give matters. The presence you bring to your families matters.

Families are strengthened by the people who show up, day after day, in ways both big and small. 🤍

This summer may feel ordinary right now.

Maybe it's filled with appointments, baby kicks, nursery plans, questions, excitement, and counting down the days until you finally meet your little one.

But one day, this will be part of your story.

You'll tell your child about the summer before they arrived. The summer you dreamed about them. Wondered who they would become. Loved them before you ever held them.

The waiting isn't always easy, but it's part of something beautiful.

One day, you'll look back and realize this was the summer everything began. 🤍

If you're growing a baby this summer, please accept this as your official recognition. 🏆☀️

Between the heat, the swelling, the endless search for shade, and carrying around a whole human, you're doing a lot.

If your summer looks a little slower than usual, that's okay. If your to-do list is shorter, that's okay. If your main goal is staying cool and hydrated, that's okay too.

Growing a baby is hard work in any season. Growing a baby during a New Mexico summer? That's next level.

Be gentle with yourself. You're already doing enough. 🤍

This Pride Month, we celebrate LGBTQ+ parents, future parents, and families of all kinds.

There is no single path to parenthood and no single definition of what a family should look like. Every family's story is unique, valuable, and worthy of support.

We honor the love, strength, and resilience of LGBTQ+ families and the communities that help them thrive.

Every family deserves to feel respected, supported, and heard throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

As doulas, our role is to provide nonjudgmental support, advocacy, education, and reassurance—helping families navigate birth with confidence and knowing they are deserving of compassionate care every step of the way. 🤍

The care you receive shouldn't be based on what works for most people.

It should be based on what helps you feel informed, respected, and supported.

Maybe that means extra reassurance. Maybe it means someone to answer your questions. Maybe it means having a steady presence beside you through the unknown.

Whatever your needs look like, they matter.

You deserve care that recognizes that your journey is your own—and that there is no right way to need support. 🤍

Language has the power to create connection.

Not every parent uses the same words to describe themselves, their body, their partner, or their parenting journey. By listening first and honoring the language families choose for themselves, we can help create birth spaces that feel safer, more affirming, and more supportive.

Every family deserves care rooted in respect.

Every birth story looks different. 🤍

Some families plan for an unmedicated birth. Some know they want an epidural. Some experience inductions, cesareans, long labors, fast labors, hospital births, or unexpected changes along the way. No matter what kind of birth someone has, they still deserve compassionate care, reassurance, emotional support, and respect throughout the experience.

Support should never be based on whether a birth looks a certain way.

Families deserve to feel informed when decisions are being made. They deserve encouragement when labor feels intense. They deserve calm support when plans change unexpectedly. And they deserve to feel seen as people—not just patients moving through a medical process.

Birth is not “less valid” because someone needed pain medication, had an induction, or delivered by cesarean. Every family’s experience matters because every family deserves to feel cared for through one of the most vulnerable and life-changing moments of their lives.

Birth is one of the most vulnerable, emotional, and life-changing experiences a person can go through. 🤍

Yet so many families enter pregnancy and labor surrounded by fear, pressure, overwhelming information, and expectations about how they “should” handle birth. In the middle of all of that, people often forget something important: families deserve gentleness too.

They deserve compassionate care.

They deserve patience when things feel overwhelming.

They deserve reassurance when fear starts to creep in.

They deserve to feel heard, respected, and emotionally safe throughout the process.

Kindness matters deeply in birth spaces. The way someone is spoken to, supported, comforted, and cared for during labor can stay with them long after birth itself is over.

Support is not about creating a “perfect” birth experience. It’s about helping families feel less alone through one of the biggest moments of their lives.

Today I was called to support a birth where the Miles Circuit helped a mama and baby find their rhythm with one another, creating the space needed for a beautiful vaginal birth.

Throughout the journey, dad was a grounded, steady presence, offering unwavering support and care. We were also joined by nursing students who had the opportunity to witness the power of patience, movement, collaboration, and birth unfolding in real time. It was a beautiful learning experience for everyone involved.

The nurses and staff were wonderful, helping create a supportive and nurturing environment for this family. Most importantly, mama, baby, and family are all doing well.

Birth continues to remind me of the wisdom held within our bodies, the power of trust, and the importance of feeling supported every step of the way.

My heart is full of gratitude for the opportunity to walk alongside families during such transformative moments. 💛
