Today’s session was all about real-world learning through play! At the museum, our kiddos explored new words, practiced taking turns, followed directions, and problem-solved—without even realizing it! When learning happens in fun, natural spaces, kids build confidence and skills that carry over into everyday life.

A huge shoutout to our amazing therapists who make these moments look effortless. Your dedication helps these little ones thrive in every environment!

Taylor’s journey is a powerful reminder of how meaningful support and community care can make a life-changing difference during difficult seasons.

In October 2025, Taylor enrolled in Care Coordination during a time of significant financial uncertainty for her growing family. While expecting another baby and caring for her toddler, her husband’s unpaid job training temporarily eliminated the family’s primary source of income, placing them at risk of housing instability.

Through consistent support, advocacy, and collaboration, our team worked closely with Taylor to ensure she received timely prenatal care, connected her with critical community resources, and provided hands-on guidance every step of the way. After identifying an urgent housing concern, our team was able to help prevent eviction and provide stability for Taylor and her family during pregnancy.

This success story reflects the impact of compassionate care coordination and the importance of meeting families where they are.

We’re so excited to announce TWO new feeding support groups coming to MECA Therapies! 🤍

Beginning Monday, June 15, 2026, we will officially launch Latch & Lounge — a weekly recurring breastfeeding support group held every Monday from 11:30 AM–12:30 PM.

This welcoming space is designed for breastfeeding moms to relax, connect, ask questions, share experiences, and build community with support from Kimberly Smetzer, BSN, RN, IBCLC., who will be facilitating the group and providing guidance along the way.

We are also excited to introduce Nurture & Nourish — a cleft feeding support group coming soon for families navigating feeding with cleft lip and/or palate. This group will provide a supportive, judgment-free environment where families can connect, learn practical feeding strategies, and receive encouragement from professionals and other parents who understand the journey.

At MECA Therapies, we are passionate about creating spaces where families feel supported, empowered, and connected throughout every stage of their feeding journey. 🤍

MECA’s Early Intervention program supported this little boy from less than one month old through his third birthday, helping him grow from early developmental concerns into a confident preschooler ready for his next chapter.

Through Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Developmental Instruction, Social Work, and Home Visiting services, he made incredible progress in communication, mobility, independence, and social skills. MECA also helped connect his family to valuable resources like ABA services, Early Head Start, and preschool support.

Today, he has successfully transitioned into preschool and continues receiving the tools and therapies he needs to thrive. His story is a reminder that early support can make a lifelong difference.

A special thank you to his incredible care team for walking alongside this family every step of the way: Shania Bowles, Alexandria Smith, Courtney Ysker, Hailey O’Daniel, and Kasee McField. Your dedication made a lasting impact.
