From Las Vegas to Boston to the national stage in sports cardiology🫀🏃

Dr. Alfred Danielian is advancing the field of sports cardiology and contributing to national and international conversations about how physicians evaluate, treat and protect the cardiovascular health of athletes and his expertise is gaining recognition well beyond Nevada.

Dr. Danielian was recently invited to attend the inaugural Boston Sports Cardiology Summit, joining leading experts around the world to exchange ideas and help shape the future of sports cardiology and safe participation in sports.

Over 100 physicians and 200 nurses from across the Sunrise Health System went to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center (3186 S Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas) on October 1, 2017. No one asked them, they just showed up ready to help.
We're so proud of our team and all those in our community that offered support, help and care on this day.

Today, we remember the lives forever changed by the tragedy of Oct. 1, 2017.

We honor those who died, those who survived and the families whose lives were changed that night. We also remember the first responders, medical teams and countless others who came together to care for our community.

At Sunrise Hospital and Sunrise Children's Hospital, our care teams treated more than 250 patients that night. Colleagues at MountainView Hospital and Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center also mobilized people, supplies and support to help care for the injured — a coordinated response that reflected the skill, compassion and dedication of healthcare teams across our community.

Nine years later, we continue to remember the courage, selflessness and humanity shown in the hours and days that followed. We honor the strength and resilience of Las Vegas and all those who continue to heal.

This AFib Awareness Month, we’re highlighting Niuton Koide, MD, cardiac electrophysiologist, and his work to advance treatment options for patients living with atrial fibrillation (AFib). ❤️

This summer, Dr. Koide and the team at MountainView Hospital reached two important milestones in heart rhythm care — performing the hospital’s first radiation-free pulsed field ablation (PFA) procedure and, just months later, performing Nevada’s first procedure using next-generation PFA technology. These advancements provide minimally invasive approaches to treating the abnormal heart rhythms associated with AFib, while helping physicians deliver precise care tailored to each patient’s needs.

AFib is the most common type of heart rhythm disorder and, if left untreated, can increase the risk of stroke, heart failure and other serious complications.

During AFib Awareness Month, we’re proud to recognize Dr. Koide and our heart care teams for continuing to advance cardiac care and bring innovative treatment options to patients right here in Southern Nevada.

Today, we honor and remember the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and recognize the heroic efforts of the first responders and everyday citizens who acted with extraordinary bravery.

Together with our HCA Healthcare family and Sunrise Health System, our thoughts are with the families, survivors and all those forever changed by that day.

From the sidelines to the statehouse - advocating for safer hearts in sports!

Congratulations to Alfred Danielian, MD, FACC, Sports Cardiologist on a newly published Expert Analysis for the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Danielian highlights an important reality; protecting athlete's hearts extends far beyond the exam room. It means turning clinical expertise into action. From expanding access to AEDs and CPR training to helping shape evidence-based policies that can save lives.
