✨Meet Our Newest Certified Nurse Midwife✨

We are thrilled to welcome Rachel Matthews, CNM to the WHASN CAPP Midwifery Team!

Rachel is no stranger to WHASN. We were fortunate to host her during her clinical training, where she spent much of her time learning alongside our own midwife, Rebecca Helie, CNM. Watching her grow into the exceptional midwife she is today has been incredibly rewarding!

A fun fact about Rachel: She is the very first Certified Nurse Midwife to graduate and become certified through the UNLV Midwifery Program! 🎉 As a graduate of Nevada’s own midwifery program, Rachel is committed to strengthening women’s healthcare in Southern Nevada.

Rachel is also a dedicated wife & mom of 4 children, including 7-month-old twins, giving her a unique perspective on the joys and challenges of pregnancy, birth, & parenting.

Among her many accomplishments, Rachel recently presented at the American College of Nurse-Midwives Annual Meeting on the work of the WHASN CAPP Midwifery Team and the integration of midwifery education in the hospital setting.

¡Habla español! Rachel provides care in both English & Spanish, helping even more families receive personalized, patient-centered care throughout every stage of life.
