Meet Dr. Ghaffarian, vascular surgeon at Vegas Vascular Specialists.

Dr. Ghaffarian’s path to vascular medicine has been shaped by academic excellence, advanced surgical training, and a strong commitment to helping patients understand and protect their vascular health.

After completing his bachelor’s degree and medical school at the University of Utah, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for ranking in the top 10% of his medical school class. He then completed a five-year integrated vascular surgery residency at the University of Washington, where his work earned nine Best Presentation awards at regional and national vascular surgery conferences.

His training included extensive experience in both open and endovascular management of complex aortic disease under Dr. Benjamin Starnes, along with research focused on vascular access, popliteal artery entrapment syndrome, and outcomes in complex aortic disease.

Today, Dr. Ghaffarian has special interests in cerebrovascular disease, vascular trauma, peripheral vascular disease and limb salvage, dialysis access, venous insufficiency, and other vascular conditions. He also remains deeply involved in vascular education, having authored surgical education modules and book chapters and serving on the editorial board for the vascular SCORE curriculum.

Most importantly, his approach to patient care centers on quality, prevention, and helping patients make informed decisions about their health.
