FOAM ROLLING Can be an effective technique for improving tissue quality, breaking through movement restrictions and enhancing recovery.

It just depends on whether or not you REALLY need it and are doing it correctly.

There are two types of Mobility restrictions.

1. Tissue Limitations
2. Stability and motor control deficits

When a tissue is restricted, Foam rolling and self myofascial release can be a valuable tool to improve the quality and extensibility of the tissue!

Everybody, regardless of your sport or activity should be able to squat, hip hinge, lunge, push, pull and move their bodies im some capacity.

In today’s world of fancy exercises all over social media, we have LOST focus on mastering the basics.

Losing focus on the foundations will likely lead you down a bad path in your training toward injuries and decrease in performance.

Well isn’t it obvious... to develop a strong, muscular back that looks as good as it performs!

💪There are many variations of this simple movement pattern which is a key component to intelligent training, healthy shoulders and improved posture.⠀

COACHING POINTS:⠀
✔️Focus on maintaining a stable base by activating the core and glutes⠀

✔️Row the dumbbell back, activating at the lats and focusing on "squeezing" the dumbbell back to your hip⠀

✔️Tense your body and hold the top of the range of motion for a split second⠀

✔️Control the eccentric lowering portion until your arm is in a straightened position at the elbow⠀

✔️Stretching the bottom portion of this movement, we can create a stronger activation pattern from the lat, rhomboids and scapular musculature to work together⠀

What is EXTERNAL ROTATION and why is it important?

Increased external rotation provides a greater arc of motion which force can be applied to the baseball, which allows you to throw harder. (Think about a sling shot... you have to pull it back to shoot forward.)

In professional pitchers, degrees of external rotation range from 160 degrees on the low end all the way up to 185 degrees or more.

It’s worth noting that excessive external rotation without the strength needed to stabilize it may actually be detrimental to velocity and put you at a greater risk for injury. Stabilize accordingly!

Understanding muscles and how they work can be an important step to feeling better, move if better and performing better.

There’s are 17 muscles that attach the the scapula.

Here’s a few examples of how our shoulder muscles control movement!

When it comes to rehabbing injuries. we like to consider the 3 R’s.

In our years of helping people overcome injuries we’ve identified that each of these components is essential to the rehab process! @ Las Vegas, Nevada

We simply cannot have a conversation about shoulder health and longevity without considering the big 3.

Dysfunction in one or more of these areas will inevitably lead to pain and/or poor shoulder performance.

If you suspect that one OR more of these areas is causing problems, we need to address it before it gets worse! @ Las Vegas, Nevada

Mobility can be the missing link in your training.

This can and should include methods to
✔️Reduce tissue limitations
✔️improve stability and motor control

is one of my favorite tools for training the rotator cuff and 17 muscles that make up the shoulder girdle.

👍What the AXIO does that traditional rotator cuff training doesn’t do is reflexively fire all of the muscles of the rotator cuff simultaneously.

🤔 This reflexive synergistic tension of the rotator cuff is Responsible for centering the ball in the socket and keeping it there during high velocity activities.

💪This is not for everyone. Only those who are trying to take their performnace to the next level like high school shortstop .forslund7
