This is one of the most common questions I receive.

Unlike eyebrows, lips heal differently because lips are not typical skin. They are part of a mucous membrane, which means they respond differently during the healing process. 🌸👄💐

Here's what you can expect:

🌸 Days 1-7: The Color Appears Darker

Immediately after your procedure, your lips will appear brighter and darker than the final healed result. This is completely normal. As the pigment oxidizes, the color may seem more intense for several days. 💐✨

🌸 The "Ghosting Phase"

Many clients experience what we call the ghosting phase. This is the stage where they panic and think all of their color disappeared. Don't worry—it hasn't! 🌸💖💐

After the lips exfoliate, a fresh layer of skin forms over the implanted pigment. This temporary layer can make the color appear muted, faded, or almost invisible.

🌸 Color Blooming Begins

As your lips continue healing over the next 3 to 6 weeks, the new skin becomes more translucent and the color gradually resurfaces. This is known as the bloom phase, when your beautiful customized lip color begins revealing its true healed shade. 🌸✨💐

Your body is also naturally processing a small amount of pigment during healing, which is expected and part of achieving a soft, natural-looking result. 🌸💖💐

Being a woman isn’t always easy. Life can be heavy, challenging, and sometimes exhausting. But often, it’s not the big gestures or grand moments that leave the biggest impact—it’s the small acts of kindness, encouragement, and genuine support that can completely brighten someone’s day.

A compliment from another woman. A kind word. A smile. A moment of understanding from even a complete stranger. Those little things can mean more than we realize.

As women, we all have a choice. We can lift each other up, or we can tear each other down. Competition, jealousy, and negativity only create darkness—but kindness, support, and encouragement create light.

As a single mom raising an adult special needs son who will always need my love, care, and support, I know firsthand that life can feel heavy. The struggles are real, and some days it can weigh on me deeply. I also work in a highly competitive field (permanent makeup) where I’ve experienced jealousy, bullying, and even sabotage. It hasn’t always been easy.

But what stands out far more than the negativity are the women who have shown unexpected kindness, encouragement, and grace. Those random acts of support have reminded me to keep going, keep growing, and keep looking forward.

Not everybody wants—or needs—a dramatic brow transformation. Bold brows are not for everyone, and permanent makeup should never be cookie-cutter. Every set of brows I create is fully customized to the individual client.

This beautiful client wasn’t looking for a complete brow makeover. She simply wanted to fill in a few sparse areas and enhance what she already had. Her goal was clear from the beginning: she wanted brows that still looked like her brows—just a little fuller, softer, and more polished.

She already had a naturally beautiful brow shape, so there was no need for anything dramatic. We carefully added soft color only where she had sparse areas, subtly enhancing nature rather than completely changing it. These are some of my favorite procedures to do—conservative, understated, and believable.

Of course, full brow transformations can be exciting and fun when that’s what a client wants. Dramatic before-and-afters tend to grab attention because they create such a striking visual change. But I truly believe ultra-natural, conservative work deserves just as much recognition.

In many ways, creating soft, delicate, believable brows is actually more challenging than doing bold, highly saturated brows. Keeping everything light-handed, soft, and subtle—while still making an impact—requires precision, patience, and skill. It’s about knowing when less is more.

I think many people are hesitant about permanent makeup because they assume it always means bold, overly structured, heavily saturated brows. Thankfully, that overly dramatic trend is slowly fading, and more women are embracing softer, natural enhancements that simply refine what they already have.

This result makes me especially happy because it doesn’t look overly stenciled or “tattooed.” It looks believable. When she walks into a room, no one is going to think, “She had her brows tattooed.” They’re simply going to think she has naturally beautiful eyebrows—and that’s exactly the goal. ✨

This beautiful lip blush transformation was done on a 67-year-old client, and she absolutely rocked it. Lip blush is not just for younger women wanting trendy color — mature lips often benefit the MOST from this service.

As we age, lips naturally lose color, definition, and fullness. Lipstick and liner also tend to feather into fine lines throughout the day (and nobody has time for that 😂). Lip blush softly restores that youthful warmth and definition without the constant reapplying, smudging, or feathering.

For this lovely client, we refined her natural lip shape and added a soft, healthy blush back into the lips. The result? Fresher, softer, more youthful-looking lips that still look completely natural. Sometimes adding a little color back into the face can make such a huge difference. 💋
