At the EDI we are committed to su***de awareness and prevention.

We will be sponsoring the 2026 American Foundation for Su***de Prevention- Nevada Chapter Out of the Darkness Walk on September 12th.

This year, we also have created a team, Nourish to Flourish, and would love for you to be a part of our team!

Will you join us?

If you have been impacted by su***de, and/or you are passionate about eating disorder awareness and su***de prevention, sign up and join our team!

If you can, please donate to this important cause and help us reach our fundraising goal!

Come to the walk and visit our booth.

Maximus will be volunteering on the care team 🐾

One thing you will feel at this walk is that

This week we wrapped up our Distress Tolerance Skills group. We taught soothing and distracting skills and ways to improve tough emotional moments. Some of our favorite things to help soothe: 1) our lovely therapist Amber and her warm, welcoming personality, 2) Amber reading a children’s book ā€œthe Worrysauraus,ā€ to us adults during mindfulness, 3) DOODLES! Meet Molly! Molly is training to be an ESA at the EDI with Maximus. She’s the sweetest! And check out those eye lashes!!

We are grateful to share the complete words of two Ditching Diet Culture & Weight Stigma participants.

Harmony Dust, MSW, describes the deeply personal freedom she experienced after challenging harmful messages about food, movement, and her body.

Michelle G. Paul, Ph.D., shares how the training changed the lens through which she views her professional work, and why this education has the potential to help healthcare providers reduce weight stigma and minimize harm.

These are the kinds of conversations this course was created to hold. Diet culture affects individuals, families, healthcare systems, and the messages we absorb about what health is supposed to look like. We can learn to recognize those messages and choose something more compassionate and evidence-informed.

Join us Friday, July 31, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, in person or live via Zoom. Participants can earn 6 CE/CME hours.

In this GLP era, many practitioners are working with patients who want these medications for weight loss. How do we navigate these situations around bodies, weight, and nutrition in a way that is ethical, honest and patient centered and does not cause undue harm? Doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, counselors, and MFTs come earn 6 CME/CE’s and learn more about weight stigma, disordered eating, eating disorders, and diet culture. Learn alternative approaches to health when GLPs are not wanted, indicated or tolerated. Link is in Bio!

Diet culture profits when we believe our bodies are the problem. They aren't.

Join us on Friday, July 31 for Ditching Diet Culture & Weight Stigma: Unpacking the Lies We Internalize, a full-day course with Dr. Lindsey Ricciardi, Ph.D., CEDS-C, and Dariya Smith, LMSW, CSW-I.

We'll dig into where diet culture and weight stigma come from, explore evidence-based and weight-inclusive frameworks like Intuitive Eating, Health at Every SizeĀ®, and Body Liberation, and leave with practical tools to support recovery, care for loved ones, and offer inclusive, compassionate care.

This day is for professionals looking to grow and for anyone navigating diet culture, weight stigma, or recovery, whether for themselves or someone they love.

Earn 6 CE/CME hours. Attend in person or live via Zoom.

What lie has diet culture told you that you're ready to leave behind? We'd love to hear.

Healing our relationship with our bodies is no easy feat! Most of us will need to unlearn our internalized anti-fatness. TRY THIS: Change up what your brain consumes!!! Follow IG accounts that represent a diverse array of bodies - different sizes, shapes, ages, abilities, etc. This will help to undo so much of the brainwashing fueled by diet culture, weight stigma, and the thin ideal. We’ve tagged some of our favorite accounts to help get you started on curating your body diverse feed. Please feel free to share/tag accounts that have helped you move towards body peace and liberation!! (We would love to find more accounts geared towards body liberation for men) .dances
