Isaiah 44:24 reminds us that every life is intentionally formed by the Creator. Every child is made with purpose, every mother is worthy of compassion, and every family deserves hope.

As students head back to school, many are filled with anticipation for a new year. For some, however, the school year begins with uncertainty as they face an unexpected pregnancy.

A teenage girl came to FCPS for a pregnancy test. Thankfully, her test was negative. Our patient advocate took the time to listen, encourage, and share from her own experience as a former teenage mother. Together they talked about the challenges of parenting at a young age, the importance of protecting her future, her dream of pursuing a career in law, and the risks associated with abortion.

We don’t always get to see how these conversations end. Sometimes our calling is simply to faithfully plant the seed and trust God with the harvest.

Please join us in praying for everyone involved in this situation.

• Pray for McKenna, the surrogate mother, that the Lord would continue to uphold, strengthen, and encourage her as she courageously protects and advocates for baby Gabriel. May He surround her with His peace, wisdom, and unwavering presence.
• Pray for baby Gabriel, that the Lord would graciously touch and heal his little heart. We ask for a miracle—that he would no longer need surgery—and that God would watch over and preserve his precious life.
• Pray for the biological parents, that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts, open their eyes to the value of their son’s life, and replace fear, anger, or any desire for harm with compassion and love. Pray that they would choose to allow Gabriel to receive the life-saving surgery he needs and ultimately desire what is best for him.
• Pray for the legal team representing McKenna and baby Gabriel, that God would grant them wisdom, discernment, favor, courage, and endurance as they fight to protect this precious child. May He bless and strengthen them each step of the way.
• Pray for everyone connected to this case—the judges, attorneys, medical professionals, family members, and all those following this story—that their hearts would be drawn to Christ. May God’s truth, justice, mercy, and love be clearly displayed through these circumstances, and may many come to know Jesus because of what He does.

Because of a community that chooses compassion, those questions don’t have to be answered alone.
