Last week was Spirit Week, and each day had its own theme—Musical Monday 🤘, Team Tuesday (go sports 🏈 ⚽️🏀⚾️!), Tropical Thursday 🌺 , and Flashback Friday 💿💾.

Some days were louder 🎸, some more colorful 🎨 , and some took us straight back in time 📹.

Wait until you see Ellie Mae’s tiny teeth 🥹

This sweet girl came into our ER for help after not feeling her best self. This was her at discharge - smiling, feeling well enough to show her bone off to her family, and show off her pearly teefs 🦷.

We love you, Ellie Mae!

Chewy’s chart photo is 🥹. We take a photo of every patient for their chart, and Chewy gave us a full-on modeling portfolio. We adore this little guy. 🧡

His family brought him from Alaska after his red blood cell and platelet counts dropped very low. He was treated by our Internal Medicine team and cared for around the clock in the ICU.

Chewy’s case is just one of the many reasons we are so grateful for our blood donors superheroes 🦸 and their families.

We may have missed Kitten Day on Friday, but we’re not missing the chance to see your cats! Tiny kittens and full-grown “kittens” all count. Drop their photos below. 🐱

We had the chance to spend time with local K9 handlers, SWAT medics, Life Flight nurses, and first responders for hands-on working dog emergency care training.

The focus was simple: help the people closest to these dogs feel more prepared in those critical first moments before veterinary care is available.

We practiced bleeding control, wound packing, canine CPR, bloat recognition, heat illness response, oral emergencies, and Narcan use. But more than anything, the day was about community — people from different agencies and backgrounds coming together because they care about the dogs who serve beside them.

A special thank you to the teams from Nellis Air Force Base, North Las Vegas PD, Henderson PD, Intermountain Life Flight, and everyone who showed up ready to learn and share.

These dogs give so much to our community. Being able to support them and their handlers in a small way means a lot to us.

This tiny girl came to us with what’s called a TBI — a traumatic brain injury. In simple terms, that means her brain was injured from trauma, which can affect things like awareness, balance, vision, and even the ability to eat or stand.

When she first arrived, she was minimally responsive. Slowly, she started showing us little signs of hope — first barely trying to stand, then standing a little stronger, and now eating on her own. Her eyesight hasn’t returned yet, but every day she’s making progress.

She’s small, but she is so brave. 💕

Happy 4th from our VECC crew! 🇺🇸🐾

We hope you and your fur family have a safe, relaxing holiday full of snacks, snuggles, and hopefully zero emergency visits. But if you do need us, we’re here.

A huge thank you to our nurses, doctors, and client care team who are working around the clock today to make sure our patients are loved and cared for.

And of course, Narwhal — Dr. Bratten’s dog — had to steal the show. Swipe for the outtake, then head to our stories for more. ❤️🤍💙

Shelby’s first stop after adoption? Our ER. ❤️

She came straight to our team for an emergency evaluation, and after consulting with our surgery department, she’s already got a much needed procedure on the books.

We love seeing our community rally around pets who need a little extra help. Wishing Shelby and her new family all the best—we’re so happy to be part of her journey. 🐾
