VE+CC, through its association with LVVSC, will provide general practice veterinarians and pet owners access to life-saving emergency, critical and specialty care doctors all under one roof. Unlike other local animal emergency facilities, VE+CC will have doctors and nurses on-site at all times allowing for continuous treatment and ongoing collaboration with the animal’s primary veterinarian. If referral to a specialist is needed, LVVRC doctors are literally down the hall.

Four little Frenchie bundles of joy have officially arrived! 💕🐾

Mama Roxanne needed an emergency C-section in the middle of the night, and our ER/ICU and on-call surgery teams jumped into action together to safely bring these four little ones into the world.

In the video, you’ll see our team **rubbing the puppies to provide tactile stimulation**, which helps stimulate independent breathing and get these tiny babies going after delivery.

𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗸𝗲, 𝗗𝗔𝗖𝗩𝗜𝗠 (𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆)! Dr. Lenske brings a great mix of emergency and critical care experience and cardiology training from UC Davis, with a special interest in interventional cardiology.

Outside of the hospital, Elise enjoys traveling, hiking, horseback riding, exploring national parks — and she’s always up for a good cup of coffee.

If you followed Treasure’s story in the news, you know he had a pretty heartbreaking start. We’re so happy to share where he is now.

When Treasure came to us, he could barely lift his head and needed intensive care from our ER and Critical Care teams. Once he was stable, imaging showed two broken legs and a fractured jaw. His injuries were unfortunately old, and one of his legs ultimately needed to be amputated.

Despite everything, Treasure was just the happiest, sweetest puppy. He loved everyone — dogs, cats and especially people. He quickly became a favorite around the hospital, and even our Surgery Supervisor Morgan helped foster him and gave him his very first pup cup.

We were so grateful to be part of Treasure’s recovery through rescue partnership. Hearts Alive for Saving Animals never stopped fighting for him, and the Redstone family generously contributed $1,000 toward his recovery.

And now, the best part: Treasure is fully healed and home with his forever family. 🐾💙

Thank you to everyone who followed his story and pulled for this very special boy. It means so much to see him get the happy ending he deserved.

Today, Augie turns 6. 🎂🐾
And this birthday is extra special.

Just weeks ago, Augie arrived at VECC critically ill after ingesting a squishy toy. Severe vomiting led to aspiration pneumonia, and at his worst, approximately 80% of his lungs were consolidated.

He required intensive critical care, high-flow oxygen, nebulization, constant monitoring and days of supportive care. At one point, his family was faced with the possibility that he might not make it.

But Augie kept fighting…
13 days later, he went home!

Today, he’s celebrating his 6th birthday! ❤️

Happy Birthday, Augie. We think 6 looks amazing on you. 🥳🐾

Dolly Parton loved dogs. 🤍🐾

And today, on International Dog Day, we’re celebrating that same kind of unconditional love.

As Dolly said, “If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” 🌈

We think the same goes for dogs. The shedding, muddy paws, 5 a.m. wake-ups and stolen socks somehow make the love even sweeter.

Let’s skip to the good part. 🥹❤️

This is Summit recovering the day after surgery. 🐾

But getting here was quite the journey.

Summit was rescued as a stray from Mt. Charleston with his entire GI tract packed with rocks. Thankfully, he passed quite a lot of them on his own, but then a splenic mass required emergency surgery. That’s when Summit came to us, and we were able to remove the mass and the remaining rocks.

We were honored to help our friends at Hearts Alive care for this sweet boy.

A big thank you to Rhodes Ranch for caring for Summit, and to Bing, Zo & Co. for saving him and giving him this chance. ❤️

Keep fighting, Summit. We’re rooting for you. 🐾
