REPOST St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation
📜 Sharing our History

October 1947 - To avoid the June summer heat, the formal dedication of Rose de Lima Hospital was postponed until October.

After the speeches, ceremony, and the formal dedication of the hospital ward, guests enjoyed a special meal and a large cake baked in the shape of the hospital, designed by Chef Rom of the El Rancho Vegas Hotel. A cascade of telegrams, letters and cards arrived from well-wishers.

Our Sisters preserved many of these in a memory book that is archived in Henderson Library. It is also available to view online, along with many other documents and images, on the Henderson Libraries website: https://hendersonlibraries.com/.

On this day in 1950, 75 years ago, the first “Peanuts” comic strip was printed in U.S. newspapers. Today, our staff, guests and pediatric patients at the Panda Cares Center of Hope at Dignity Health - St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena Campus - Henderson, NV were able to partake in the Peanuts Worldwide PaintFest!

In partnership with Snoopy and the Foundation for Hospital Art, we were able to bring the joy of Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle, and the Peanuts Gang to our St. Rose and Panda Cares family. 🧡

Fun Fact:
It’s pretty cool to share a milestone year with the ultimate "Joe Cool"! 😎 As our sister hospital, Siena, celebrates 25 years of service, we will bring together everyone’s artistic contributions to create a special mural for the Peds unit.
