7 DAYS TO GO.

There’s something pretty remarkable about seeing all 13 of these presenters together.

In just one week, they’ll be gathering in Las Vegas for two days of learning, conversation, and connection.

Among them are authors, therapists, teachers, coaches, and longtime Enneagram practitioners, each bringing the Enneagram into a different part of life.

Relationships. Money. Emotional patterns. Shadow work. Parts work. Qigong. The stories we tell ourselves. The next generation. And more.

But one of the things we're most looking forward to isn't just the individual sessions.

It's what happens when you bring all of these people and everyone attending into the same room.

There will be breakout sessions, two presenter panels, conversations over breakfast and lunch, questions, book signings, and a Friday cocktail reception.

One week from today, it begins.

13 presenters. Two days. One incredible Gathering.

September 11–12 | South Point Hotel & Casino
Breakfast + lunch both days | Friday cocktail reception
$200

I wish I had known this when I lost my son... ❤️‍🩹

Maybe it can help someone else now.

"This idea was presented in the article “Can playing Tetris help prevent PTSD if you’ve witnessed something traumatic?”(Bressington & Mitchell, 2024). It seems to have first been proposed in 2009 by Oxford University psychologists. They suggest that playing a visuospatial game like “Tetris”, within 30 minutes after a traumatic event may disrupt the formation of sight and sound memories related to the traumatic event. This is because trauma flashbacks are sensory-perceptual, visuospatial mental images. Therefore, when a visuospatial game like “Tetris” is played within the time usually reserved for memory consolidation, it fights for the brain’s resources and leads to reduced flashbacks (Holmes et al., 2009).

While this research was done over a decade ago, more recent research has also shown success in using “Tetris” to prevent PTSD flashbacks as well as potentially reducing depression and anxiety in combat veterans (Butler et al., 2020). Additionally, in a randomized controlled trial, “Tetris” was found to be an effective intervention to reduce intrusive memories overall and lead to declined intrusive memories for emergency department patients who had experienced motor vehicle crashes. Patients found this intervention easy, helpful, and minimally distressing (Iyadurai et al., 2018). Another study suggested the use of “Tetris” and other verbal word games to reduce intrusive memories (Hagenaars et al., 2017)."

🎉 Today is the first day of MATCH training at Elements of Motivation!

We are excited that our team of therapists is beginning training in the Modular Approach to Therapy for Children (MATCH), an evidence-based treatment designed for children and teens ages 6–17.

MATCH helps clinicians tailor treatment to each child’s unique needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. It integrates research-supported strategies for:
🧩 Anxiety
💙 Depression
🌱 Trauma
💥 Conduct and behavioral challenges

This flexible model allows therapists to adjust treatment as children grow and their needs change, helping families receive care that is both effective and individualized.

We are honored that Elements of Motivation was selected to bring this innovative training to our community. Investing in our clinicians means investing in better care for the children and families we serve.

Please join us in cheering on our amazing therapists as they begin this exciting journey! We can’t wait to put these new skills into practice and continue expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based mental health care in Southern Nevada. 💜

Most types of therapy let clients know that things can get tougher before they improve. This is a common and honest part of how many approaches work.
ART works a bit differently. Many clients say they feel better after working through their hardest experiences, sometimes even after the first session. This often surprises people and leads them to wonder: if it works so quickly, how deep is the change?
The key is what ART changes. This therapy focuses on the distressing images and feelings connected to a memory, not the details of what happened. When those change, the body’s threat response changes too. The nervous system can finally relax. Relief comes quickly because ART works where the distress is actually stored, not just on the surface.

🪄 Congratulations to another incredible group of newly trained Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) clinicians!

Welcome to the growing community of ARTicians who are helping clients find healing from trauma, anxiety, grief, phobias, OCD, and so much more. It was an honor to spend the weekend learning and growing with each of you. I can’t wait to see the lives you’ll impact. 💜

One of my favorite parts of every training is watching clinicians experience just how powerful and practical ART can be. It’s always exciting to know that when everyone heads home, dozens more clients across our communities will have access to this life-changing approach.

✨ Ready to learn ART?

Our upcoming ART Basic Trainings are:
