This is the O-A & GB 20 Release class.

Here my students at the European Massage Therapy School finished their chair massage class early, and we had an extra day to work on something very very special.

As I've said many times in my classes, if you only have two areas to release on the body, they absolutely are the occipital-atlantic joint and the psoas. We will get to the psoas later. But for right now we are opening up the GB 20 point.

This release includes the occipital-atlantal joint, the suboccipital muscles, and the gall bladder 20 acupoint... and is by far the most psychosomatically liberating gift that you could ever possibly give someone.

This very magical GB20 accupoint is the key to unlocking the entire body for optimal health and cellular rejuvenation. It not only has the capability of balancing the autonomic nervous system, but also gives the body & mind a sort of "bulletproof" immune defense against any and all pathogenic influences.

Whenever anybody talks about the "blue zones"... The areas around the world where everybody lives the longest, this here is the essence of what they're talking about.

This technique initiates a vago-vasal response throughout the body, calming the nervous system, and allowing all of it's restorative abilities to go into action!

In this work, we are first and foremost trying to get the client "reconnected" to his or her body, a concept called interoception, in which they feel systemic genuine sensations, such as chills, goosebumps, vibrations, and streams & waves of energy. And many people will often feel a sense of euphoria during this process.

But certain individuals who are ready for deeper levels of bodywork will feel more intense responses as the meridians truly start to open up, which are heat radiations or cool-menthol sensations throughout their body. The heat is the "yang" energy, and the cool-menthol sensation is the "yin".

This truly is a genuine experience of real chi energy, and it leads to levels of bliss that nobody can deny!

This client has not been able to move her big toe at all in 10 years! Her doctor told her it was because of a bulging disc. I said, oh really... Let's see about that. She also hasn't had any sensation in the front of her lower leg during this time, either. Within only 10 minutes of manual therapy, full motor function restored. And in just 10 more minutes, all sensation has returned.

Today at my clinic, we were getting rid of fibrosis and myofascial adhesions. You can try all you want with the foam rollers, tennis balls, stretching, suction cupping, acupuncture, etc... But in the end, the best way to get rid of these restrictions is sophisticated soft tissue manual therapy!

About Myofascial Release...

I've had many clients over the years come to me requesting myofascial release to help them with their chronic pain issues, and so here I want to explain it in a way that helps you all understand why and when this type of manual therapy treatment is necessary or not necessary.

The traditional myofascial techniques are great to warm & soften up, and spread out connective tissue... and even help to unlock & release deeply rooted psychological tensions.

This technique provides temporary relief for biomechanical dysfunctions in the body, and on deeper levels can improve psychological freedom.

I love it, and it has its place in holistic manual therapy.

But when it comes to truly remediating thicker connective tissue lesions, such as fibrosis, scar tissue, and thick facial restrictions... this technique simply will not do.

What's really required after these techniques are done, is tissue remediation/remodeling.

This is a much more forceful manual therapy technique that physically & structurally "smoothes out" tissue restrictions.

Honestly, this work is not comfortable, and can even be painful at times. But it's definitely required.

These types of tissue lesions are at the root of most people's chronic pains and dysfunctions... and absolutely will not go away on their own. They must be gotten rid of (remediated) by a manual therapy specialist.

This is what I do.

But the good news is, after these painful restrictions are gone, they are gone for good! ...That is, as long you do not cause them to come back from whatever it is that you've been doing that created them in the first place.

So if you, or anybody you know, has been in chronic pain and nobody else has been able to help you... You should come see me. I just may be able to help in ways that no other practitioner can.
