This October, Budget Watchers is proud to celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) and recognize the talents, abilities, and contributions of individuals with disabilities in the workforce!

As part of our continued commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities, we are proud to highlight that our leadership holds an ACRE Certification in Community Employment Services, with an Emphasis on Customized Employment!

What does this mean for our clients?
ACRE (Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators) recognizes specialized training in employment services. Customized Employment focuses on identifying each individual's unique strengths, interests, abilities, and career goals to help create meaningful employment opportunities that align with their skills and the needs of employers.

This training supports our commitment to providing person-centered vocational services, helping clients develop workplace skills, build confidence, increase independence, and pursue competitive, integrated employment.

At Budget Watchers, we believe employment is more than just finding a job. It's about helping individuals discover their potential, develop their abilities, and build a future filled with opportunities!

This month, Budget Watchers proudly joins organizations across the country in “Celebrating Value and Talent.”

At Budget Watchers, we believe every individual has unique abilities, talents, and contributions that deserve to be recognized. Each day, we work alongside individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities to help them develop skills, build confidence, prepare for employment, and pursue meaningful opportunities in their communities.

Throughout October, we'll be celebrating what NDEAM represents to us:

Let’s Talk About Life Skills: How to Set Goals!

We all have things we want to accomplish. Maybe it’s getting a job, learning a new skill, saving money, becoming more independent, or simply getting better at something that matters to us.

But sometimes a big goal can feel overwhelming. The key is to start small and be intentional!

• Think about what you want. What would you like to accomplish?
• Make a plan. Break your goal into smaller, manageable steps.
• Ask for support. It’s okay to have someone encourage you or help you along the way.
• Take action. You don’t have to do everything today—just take the next step. Celebrate your progress! Every step forward matters, even the small ones.
