Does feeding your baby feel like a full-time job? 🍼💛 You’re not alone.

Feeding should typically be an enjoyable experience, with most feedings lasting about 10–15 minutes every 2.5–3 hours. If every feeding feels like a struggle, there may be support available to help both you and your little one.

Our infant feeding specialist, Kelley, is a Speech-Language Pathologist with over 30 years of experience helping babies develop safe, efficient feeding skills. Every child is unique, which is why treatment plans are personalized and often completed in just 2–6 sessions, depending on your baby’s needs.

During therapy, parents learn practical techniques, exercises, bodywork strategies, and feeding support they can confidently use at home to help their baby thrive 🌟

Who knew laundry day could be speech therapy, too? 🧺💙

Simple, everyday routines are full of opportunities to build communication skills—no screens required!

While folding laundry together, try asking your child to:
🧦 Match socks
👕 Name clothing items
🌈 Sort clothes by color
📏 Practice concepts like big vs. small or inside vs. outside

These playful moments help strengthen:
✨ Categories
✨ Vocabulary and expressive language
✨ Following directions
✨ Early learning concepts

The best part? Your child is learning through meaningful interactions with you. Small moments like these can make a big impact on language development!

💛 Save this idea for your next laundry day and give it a try!

🎆✨ Who knew an empty toilet paper roll could help build communication skills?

This simple fireworks painting craft transforms everyday household items into a fun learning opportunity! As your child stamps colorful “fireworks” onto paper, you can naturally encourage speech and language by talking about:
🎨 Colors (“Which color should we use next?”)
💥 Action words (“Stamp, press, dip, twist!”)
🔢 Counting the fireworks together
🗣️ Expanding sentences (“I made a big blue firework!”)

Creative activities like this also support fine motor development, following directions, turn-taking, and imaginative play—all while making memories together ❤️

💙 Save this activity for your next craft day and share it with another parent looking for easy ways to encourage communication through play!

Is folding clothes part of occupational therapy? Absolutely! 👕✨

Occupational therapy isn’t just about exercises—it’s about building the skills children need for everyday life. Tasks like folding clothes help develop fine motor skills, bilateral coordination, visual perception, motor planning, attention, and independence.

The goal is to help children gain confidence in the activities they’ll use every day, at home, at school, and beyond. Sometimes the biggest milestones are built through the simplest tasks.

At Speakeasy Therapy Services, we’re helping little hands build big life skills—one activity at a time. 💙

💧 Did you know hydration can impact your child’s therapy progress?

Water does more than quench thirst—it helps support attention, energy, coordination, endurance, and even communication skills.

Whether your child is practicing speech sounds, working on fine motor tasks, or building strength and balance, staying hydrated can help them participate more successfully throughout the day.

Especially during a Las Vegas summer ☀️, regular water breaks can make a big difference in helping children learn, move, and communicate at their best.

This National Hydration Day, encourage your child to keep a water bottle nearby and make hydration part of their daily routine!

✨ Every Child’s Journey Looks Different ✨

On International Being You Day, we’re celebrating something we see every day in therapy:
There is no one “right” way to grow, learn, communicate, play, or move through the world 💙

Every child has their own strengths, challenges, personality, interests, and pace of development. What comes easily for one child may take more time for another—and that’s okay.

At Speakeasy Therapy, we believe progress isn’t about comparison. It’s about helping children build confidence, develop skills, and reach meaningful goals in a way that honors who they are.

Today, let’s celebrate the unique qualities that make each child special and the progress they’re making along the way 🌟

🐻 What do bears, frogs, and crabs have in common?

They can help build communication skills! ✨

Animal walks are a fun way to keep kids moving while supporting important developmental skills. As your child hops like a frog, stomps like a bear, or scuttles like a crab, they’re practicing:

🗣️ Action words
👀 Imitation skills
💪 Body awareness
🤝 Turn-taking

Try taking turns choosing an animal and see who can copy it best! Simple play activities like this can create meaningful opportunities for learning, movement, and connection.

Which animal walk would your child choose first? 🐸🐻🦀
