Sometimes you’re so focused on what you don’t like about yourself that you forget to see the whole picture.

One mistake, one insecurity, or one difficult season doesn’t define who you are.

Maybe you don’t need to be harder on yourself. Maybe you need a little perspective.

💚 Save this for the days self-criticism gets loud.

🎙️ Wellness Unfiltered with Dr. Quinnett

Real conversations about mental health, relationships, and what it means to take care of yourself in the middle of real life.

I’m Dr. Quinnett, a licensed therapist and educator, and I created this podcast to explore the connection between our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and overall well-being.

We’re talking about anxiety, self-worth, boundaries, relationships, stress, nutrition, movement, sleep, and the everyday habits that influence how we feel and function.

Because taking care of yourself isn’t just about what you eat, how much you exercise, or how productive you are. It’s also about understanding yourself, recognizing patterns, and making changes that actually fit your life.

No perfection. No pressure. No one-size-fits-all advice.

Just honest conversations, practical insights, and a whole-person approach to mental and emotional wellness.

What if you’re not too hard on yourself? Maybe you’re just too close to see the bigger picture.

Think about how easily we focus on the things we don’t like about ourselves. One mistake, one insecurity, or one difficult season can become the way we define who we are.

But a moment doesn’t define your identity.

Sometimes, what we need isn’t more self-criticism or another thing to fix. We need enough distance to see ourselves with greater clarity and compassion.

The next time you catch yourself being overly critical, ask: Am I seeing the whole picture, or am I focused on one small detail?

🎧 I talk more about this on my latest episode of Wellness Unfiltered with Dr. Quinnett: Why Am I So Hard on Myself? How to Stop Self-Criticism.

PCOS has been renamed PMOS. And one word in the new name matters: metabolic.

PMOS stands for Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.

For years, PCOS has been talked about mostly in terms of periods, fertility, cysts, and reproductive health.

But the condition is bigger than that.

Hormones matter.
Insulin regulation matters.
Metabolic health matters.

And those things don’t stop mattering when fertility is no longer the focus.

In this week’s episode of Wellness Unfiltered with Dr. Quinnett, I’m breaking down why PCOS was renamed PMOS, what the new terminology means, and why understanding the metabolic side of this condition matters for women’s health as we age.

You probably don’t need another supplement. You need to know what the supplement is supposed to be supporting.

If you’re over 35 and trying to lose weight, build muscle, have more energy, or feel better in your body, social media will gladly convince you that the answer is another powder, pill, or “must-have” wellness product.

But supplements can’t replace:

Protein.
Enough food.
Strength training.
Sleep.
Movement.
Stress management.
Consistency.

I take supplements too. In this week’s episode of Wellness Unfiltered with Dr. Quinnett, I’m breaking down 2 that I personally use.

We’re talking about:
• Creatine, water weight, and the fear of “bloating”
• Why creatine matters for muscle, recovery, and healthy aging
• The difference between BCAAs and essential amino acids
• And why none of these replaces actually eating enough protein

The goal isn’t to build the biggest supplement stack.

It’s to build the foundation first, then use supplements strategically to support it.
