To celebrate 529 Day, the first 10 babies born on May 29 at Spring Valley Hospital received special gift baskets from the Nevada State Treasurer’s Office, complete with a $529 gift certificate for a Nevada 529 savings account! It's a sweet reminder that it's never too early to begin planning for a bright future and lifelong learning!

Meet Gary D. Morris, M.D., a highly skilled orthopedic surgeon who has been caring for patients in Las Vegas since 2000.

Dr. Morris specializes in foot and ankle conditions, total joint replacements of the ankle, knee, and hip, and advanced arthroscopic procedures of the lower extremities. His extensive training includes earning his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, completing his orthopedic residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, and a prestigious foot and ankle fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, where he trained under renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Bill Hamilton.

With additional international training in foot and ankle trauma surgery in Hannover, Germany, Dr. Morris brings a global perspective to patient care. He has also treated professional athletes and performers from some of the most well-known productions on the Las Vegas Strip, including Cirque du Soleil and Celine Dion’s “A New Day.”

May was full of festivities, including our annual Hospital Week celebration! This year’s theme was carnival fun, reflected by our Ringmaster Breakfast, carnival games, a dunk tank fundraiser for the American Heart Association Heart Walk, a nacho bar and our hospital t-shirt distribution with our Safety First reminder!
