Summer heat doesn’t just affect us—it can seriously burn our four-legged friends’ paws. Even when the air feels manageable, pavement can become dangerously hot in just minutes.

Before heading out, remember:
🐶 Walk during the early morning or later in the evening.
🖐️ Test the pavement with the back of your hand for 7 seconds.
💧 Bring plenty of water and keep your pup hydrated.
🐾 Consider paw balm or protective booties on extra hot days.

💚 Patient Spotlight: Meet Laura! 💚

At Skye Canyon Post Acute, every patient has a story, and we’re honored to be part of their journey.

Meet Laura, who has been with us since July 6th. As a former EMT/Paramedic, Laura dedicated her life to caring for others before multiple medical conditions and physical disabilities unexpectedly ended her career.

Having experienced several rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities throughout the Las Vegas Valley, Laura shared something that means the world to our team:

⭐ “Overall, Skye Canyon has been the best one by far.” ⭐

When she’s not in therapy, Laura enjoys making beautiful arts and crafts, loves all animals (especially her orange tabby, Chevy 🧡), and looks forward to spending time with our beloved resident tortoise, Wild Bill, helping feed him his favorite greens.

Laura has embraced everything our community has to offer—from morning coffee and card games to afternoon activities—and has become a wonderful part of the Skye Canyon family.

Her kind words remind us why we do what we do:
