Regular eye exams are essential at every stage of life. Children should have at least one comprehensive eye exam between ages 3–5, while individuals with diabetes are advised to have a yearly dilated eye exam. Those at higher risk for glaucoma may need check-ups every 1–2 years 🗓️

It’s also important not to ignore warning signs such as sudden changes in vision, eye pain, redness, flashes of light, floaters, or halos around lights. Early evaluation can make a significant difference.

Routine eye examinations play a key role in maintaining healthy vision, detecting eye conditions early, and preventing avoidable vision loss.

Not all eyes fit into a “standard” lens — and that’s where EyePrint Pro comes in!

EyePrint Pro is one of the most advanced and customizable scleral lenses available today. Using a detailed impression of the eye, this technology creates a lens uniquely designed for each patient’s eye shape and needs.

From the impression process to digital 3D design and precision fabrication, every step is focused on achieving better comfort, stability, and vision — especially for patients with complex corneal conditions.

Myopia Awareness Week runs from May 18–24, and this year’s theme — “Start Early, Protect Vision for Life!” — reminds us how important early detection and prevention truly are.

As an eye doctor, I encourage parents, educators, caregivers, and fellow health professionals to prioritize regular eye exams early in life. Early intervention can help slow myopia progression and protect long-term vision health.

Healthy habits also play a major role in protecting young eyes:
✔️Schedule regular comprehensive eye exams
✔️Encourage at least 2 hours of outdoor activity daily
✔️Balance screen time and near work
✔️Watch for signs of vision problems in children

Myopia is becoming increasingly common worldwide, but with awareness and early action, we can help children maintain healthier vision for life. 💙

What if treating depression could be as simple as wearing contact lenses?

Researchers have developed smart contact lenses that deliver gentle electrical stimulation through the retina to target mood-related brain circuits. In mouse studies, the treatment showed antidepressant-like effects comparable to fluoxetine (Prozac).

The lenses use a technique called temporal interference, where two harmless electrical signals overlap to precisely stimulate specific brain regions — all without invasive surgery.

After 3 weeks of treatment, researchers observed:
✨ Improved behavior
✨ Restored brain connectivity
✨ Lower stress hormone levels
✨ Increased serotonin levels

While this technology is still in the early research stage and far from human use, it opens a fascinating possibility for future non-invasive mental health therapies.

Science is getting closer to treating the brain in ways we never imagined.
