Welcome to my office for the week 👓
Let’s give it up for all the mamas out there. Because postpartum can really be a tough time. Trying to manage it all, wanting to get back to your pre baby body, feeling exhausted. I know i was there.
And when I was talking to a client about all of this today because we’re working through her PP journey together — the first thing we discussed is giving herself GRACE. Look at what your body just did. Created a freaking human.
From there — here are some things weve been working on — the tangible
🤰🏼 getting her thyroid checked because after birth it’s really common to have changes with thyroid hormone that can effect mood energy and weight
🤰🏼 alcohol - we discussed the right balance to allow her hormones to begin to heal but so that she could also enjoy a date night with her husband
🤰🏼 supplements — she was complaining of severe bloating post birth and digestive issues. A lot of that can be your body coming back to balance but we discussed some all natural supplements that won’t effect breastfeeding that will allow her to wake up feeling lighter and like she’s had a complete bowel movement. The relief has been almost immediate.
🤰🏼 blood sugar balance — priority number ONE - making the dietary choices that were necessary but also ones that fit her busy lifestyle. Eating healthy can also be simple. We’ve come up with a meal plan, meal prep + a grocery list that works for her to ensure she’s getting quality protein good fat healthy carbs and plenty of fiber at every meal
🤰🏼 movement — again being a busy mom, sometimes it’s hard and we want to find every excuse to not workout but the thing is it doesn’t have to be an hour of intense cardio to count — we’ve worked out a consistent schedule for her that feels manageable and also includes her little one that she’s already seeing results from.
🤰🏼 rest — it’s JUST as important as the tangible work so whether it’s a meditation, breath work or just taking a freaking nap it’s absolutely critical for to keep your cortisol levels normal when you’re a new mom. That will effect the way your motivation, mood and how you feel in your body
