Before entering the insurance industry, Stacy spent many years as a successful salon owner, where she specialized in helping individuals look and feel their best. As a devoted wife of 18 years, a proud mother of two beautiful daughters, and a joyful new “Glammy” to a gorgeous two-year-old granddaughter, she understands firsthand the profound importance of protecting the ones you love. Krewe de Pink Death by Chocolate is always such a fun evening! Seeing the funeral home open its doors to celebrate survivors, bring our community together, and showcase delicious local food makes it especially meaningful.

The past few days have been a whirlwind of collaboration, learning, connection, mentorship, and opportunities to grow. Most of all, they’ve been a reminder of how much we can accomplish when we support one another in the death care profession.

Dolly Parton’s music has played through generations of our lives. I’ve heard her songs in the background of family memories, sung along during the fun times, and turned to them when life was hard. Somehow, she has always known how to bring a little joy and a little comfort when we need it.

The First Call Matters.

The first phone call a family makes to a funeral home may be one of the most difficult calls they will ever make. They may be grieving, overwhelmed, confused, or simply unsure of what happens next.

For funeral home professionals, answering these calls becomes part of our everyday work. And sometimes, because we do it every day, we can forget the importance of the basic questions.

Did we get their name and the name of their loved one? Did we ask for the best phone number and email? Do we understand what has happened and where their loved one is located? Who is the primary decision-maker? Most importantly—did we make the family feel heard, cared for, and confident that someone will call them back?
